but you made a good point corey: bret should have dropped the title, and i'm sure bret cried about it cuz he ego is as big as jupiter. but hell, bret is the one of the best wrestlers of all time, and he was at his best as a heel

i heard that about bret about his ego. i read shawns book and his side of the story, i still think its fucked up from the wrestlers standpoint. i remember i diddnt get two ppv back in the day and the one where bret got screwed was one and the other one was when owen died. I always wished bret would have cam back to wwf but it never happened lol
I think Bret and Vince planned the whole thing. It was the ultimate screw-over and had everybody talking about it.
I live in Calgary (Where The Hart family is from) and they are a weird family. Bret is an asshole in real life and is straight up white trash. I suppose you could say that money never changed him, but he is a greasy dude for real, and has a huge ego. I can definitely see Shawn Michaels side of things, and can picture Bret not wanting to lose because of his giant gassed up head.
Do you guys remember when Rick Rude appeared on Raw and Nitro on the same night? I think Raw was pretaped, and Nitro was live and Rudes contract was up after The Raw filming so he bounced to WCW right after. I dont watch wrestling at all anymore, but those days when WCW was on top was the shit...

The ONLY time it's a bad idea to change the plans during the match is, say you're not supposed to execute a piledriver on someone...you start to do it anyways...they don't know what's going on, try to escape, etc....you fill in the blanks.
But to change the ending of a match.....who the fuck cares? The match ended, nobody got hurt. If anyone fucked over their career, it was Bret for being such a bitch about it.
What were they gonna do? Restart the fake match? The match was over. Roll with the punches, put on a show, make a scene (IN CHARACTER).....THEN ask what the fuck happened (and legitimately lose your head) once you get backstage.
