So I didnt really plan to go to Warped (i rarely do) but I got hooked up with a ticket at the last minute and decided to hit it up, and it was unexpectedly good all around. There werent too many breaks where I wasnt listening to good music or making my way to another stage for a group.

Flogging Molly is always fun live.. they played some new songs which sounded great.

Fishbone kicks ass and I didnt really know about them that much till today. Those guys are skilled with so many instruments you usually dont see.

Pepper was cool. As I Lay Dying.. I dont really like them too much and i think most of their songs sound the same, but live they were much better for some reason, was ok stuff.

Bad Religion rocked hard, as always. Greg's bald spot is getting noticeably bigger each year, lol.

and of course Coheed and Cambria, who were the best of the night and have become one of the best live rock groups ive seen in the last few years. They played 2 of their new songs, the single (which is ok imo), and another harder one.

Anyone else check it out?

i made a thread for warped a WHILE ago.. and Coheed and Cambria?? LMAO...

i think there terrible BUT, im not gonna talk shit cuz i see obviously we have a way different taaste in music.. I like Underoath, Choidos, and KILLSWITCH ENGAGE so yea way different styles... But one of the MAIN bands i wanted to see was The Vincent Black Shadow. Madina Lake was taken off the roster and thats who i was goin to see but they got put on PROJEKT REVOLUTION which was even better for me. Then i wanted to see ONE song performed by New Found Glory, and Hawthorne Heights

Well Coheed is a totally different genre than bands like Underoath and Killswitch. I mean they are true "Modern Rock & Roll" while the others are the newer age harder sound. Cant really compare em that much.

I did catch the Vincent Black Shadow, i didnt know about them beforehand, but they definitely put on a pretty decent show yesterday. I think they were the first group that actually went on at the whole show when gates opened.

I'd only go to see bad religion. The sound that the warped tour is going for has definitely changed from years before when they had mainly punk bands.

for real? I dunno im not really a hardcore fan of ANY of the bands its just the music was soundin good live, and the pits were good.. Pretty much the only reason why I didnt sell my ticket after i found out MADINA LAKE wasnt on the lineup anymore was just cuz i was like hell, ima have a whole day of pitting, fuckin people up and gettin myself fucked up so what the hell. And yea I know there totally different thats y I said im not gonna say anything cuz were on totally different pages.

I agree with whoever said Warped has changed... I never been one of those that went religiously or hell even knew the lineups until about 2 or 3 years ago when my favorite local band was playin at our Warped. I wanted to see them and SKindred. but my first Warped was 07... tell the truth depending if theres a few good bands. Ill go again next year... I had hella fun.. Me and my friend just ran from stage to stage pitting like a muhfucker. and there was another hardcore ass band on the Hurley.com stage but i forgot there name.

And about The Vincent Black Shadow. There pretty good.. I wanna see em again. Warped was my 2nd time seeing em. Guitarist trys to make up for the lack of lead singer movement but its all good cuz Cassandra is GORGEOUS, and they actually make good music.... I just felt hella homo singin along

I had to youtube Madina Lake to see if it was the same band I was thinking about. It was. Man that video they were playing on MTV quite abit by them made me want to punch babies while strangling kittens with my other hand.

To each their own though like you said in your first post in this thread.

Warped tour hasn't been good in years.

Only band with the name Vincent in it I know of is Vincent Price's Orphan Powered Death Machine, and there is no way in hell they would be on Warped tour lol.

You like stuff like Death Metal?

And I can see people not liking Madina Lake, and theb music video for House of Cards was pretty weak, BUT i kinda liked them from the beginning. IM from CHICAGO and so are they.. After the Blank Theory (xband) they formed Madina Lake, and they opened for a local band INEPT along with 15 Minutes Late. That was their first show and I was there. Then a month later, went to see INEPT again and the dudes from 15 minutes Late were there handin out free tickets to a show.. SO we grabbed them. realized it was the same show but switches headliners. this time it was 15 Minutes Late, INEPT and then Madina lake... now i dont remember if it was that night or if i saw Madina again (I think I saw them again) but i was at the show that the ROADRUNNER RECORD representative was there peepin there show.. (after Madina showed them their Demo tape. The brothers won Twin fear factor to recieve the money for studio time) after that they got signed... So not only do i like the music but I want to support them.. I was there for there first show, and for the show they got signed at and thats a cool thing..

But yea dude the punchin babies was some hella funny shit haha...

I'm not too big on Death Metal. Where did that question come from? Only really metal I like a lot is Sludge and Stoner metal, some Doom. That's about it.

That's cool that you support your locals bands, you won't ever hear me say otherwise on that. I just don't like that kind of music much. I listen to a lot of "real" emo and when people label that kind of stuff emo it makes me want to punch them in the throat.

i agree that its not like it used to be (of course), but you dont like Bad Religion, Flogging Molly, Or Coheed enough to see em live? I dont know if i woulda gone if i didnt get a free ticket, but I might have paid the 25 bucks that it was pre-selling for, thats a really good price for any event of that size. Even though the "majority" of the bands were bullshit, I still somehow was able to have fun for the entire 8 hours I was there. There was always something going on, often not even related to music.
