So you're the guy who use to write me on eBay and would argue with me about the authenticity of my MC Ant CD. Yeah, this CD/MC Ant CD has been around forever and a day, since the album first dropped. I had my copy since it first droped and I got my extra copies from my uncle when he closed his doors (Spin Records, 28th & Downing) back in 2004. My family had this in stock/our inventory since the album first dropped. I don't know why you insist on this whole Ant Banks thing, but this ain't Ant Banks album. There isn't anything bootleg about MC Ant's - The Great CD. Man, I'm glad that I read this just now. Now I know who this mysterious guy was who would get on my last nerve by contacting me via eBay with all of this Ant Banks said this...Ant Banks said that. I know what's up with this album and when we/my family first got these CD's into our inventory. We had this album since the '80's. You need to let that whole Ant Banks told me...thing die, because it's not Ant Banks album and Ant Banks apparently doesn't know anything about it. Why would he...it's not his project, label nor album. He/MC Ant is a friend of his/Ant Banks...that's it. Oh yeah, Ant Banks did some production on the album, but believe me...he (If what you say is true about Ant Banks) apparently has no real clue.

Look man if thats what you say then thats what you say, The album came out in 92, so you have not had it since the 80's. Banks produced atleast 75% of the album, ill pull out my lp or tape show the credits. While ill agree it is possible Banks does not know what he is talking with regard to it being put out on cd, I have done other research. No other record stores including rasputins, amobea or the few mom and pop stores ever heard of it on cd or to their knowledge ever had it. That just all adds up to me questioning the cd. If I can confirm anyone saw the cd or purchased it from a store other than ebay ill buy thats its legit. I do research on every release like that before I buy. I was not bothering you I simple asked for a sample of the 1 or two tracks to hear the qlty, no matter how good you rip of a tape or lp you can tell its from a tape or lp. You pretty much gave nothing with attitutde towards me. I am sorry but I was going to pay the 400 you were asking I wanted a sample. I would have paid that , if I heard a sample. So since you act the way you do towards customers I refuse to shop with you anymore, its a shame because you had a ton of stuff I needed. I just sent Marv my business and every transcation has went very well. Thanks Just to be clear I am not saying you are lying, I just like to confirm stuff from more than one source, Its very possible these people have no idea what they are talking about, but if Im going to pay that much its nice to get confirmation. You are obviously very up on your shit so, by no means am I saying you are bootlegging or anything like that. So its all good.

i believe that album came out in 88 or 89. mc ant second album the comback came out in 91.

ya thats my bad lol i was ging off the top of my head
No problem. Just quit busting peoples balls like that. Sometimes people do know what they're talking about. I don't have to lie bruh. Oh yeah, Rasputins, Ameoba and other music chains don't know shit anyways. Matter of fact, I bet that most people on this forum knows more than the average employee. Most employees at those stores aren't even originally from the Bay and probably don't care to even listen to rap. I'm in Berkely & The Sucka Free 3 times a year and visit those store every time. The employee's don't know shit, but the genre that they like. You might find a typical Hip Hop head, but that hip hop head probably doesn't listen to underground, Gangsta rap or old school West Coast Rap. That's been my experience, so I don't even ask people at stores anymore. Most of the time they look at me confused (Like What, Who, When,Huh?). LOL!

Believe me, I know my shit and if I don't know it...I don't act like I do. I don't want to be anybody's fool. I'm the first to admit that I don't know something if I don't know it.

I didn't want to send you mp3's of it, because A. I don't know you. B. I don't know if you're a MP3 Moocher, a bootlegger and etc. I don't try to be an asshole to anybody. Maybe, you should look at things from more than one/your point of view. This way you won't get so offended by something as simple as me telling you, "No, I won't rip a few songs for you". I have my reasons. Not only that, I was sort of thinking that you were this one guy who use to be on the siccness.net. He's banned now, but he was this crippled guy who would ask questions that were odd in my opinion and he never, ever bought shit. He just had a million and one questions and assumed a lot like you did. You're not crippled and live in the New York area do you? Lol! Just Kidding. Don't take some things so personal, because sometimes it's not what it seems.

P.S. The album came out in 1989 not 1992. Not that it really matters.

Sincere,

I always wondered how you had so much shit? I figured you had ties to Spin or that place on east colfax (forgot the name). I never knew how Spin sold shit. It was always so damn dark in there you couldn't even see the tapes in the case.

Yeah, one of my uncles owned Spin and my other uncle owned Russell's Tapes & Records. Their brothers as you can see. Allen aka Poopie & Russell aka J.R.. I've been around music, CD's Vinyl and Tapes forevery/my whole life. This is how I have a lot of knowledge.

P.S That place was 1 of two other store off of Colfax/15th Street. "Sunshine Records" was the one that is directly on Colfax and the "Malt Shop" was off of 14th & Kearney or Krameria. Lol! Those were the days.

I know when MC Ant died! Dont get me wrong I am not saying you cant find it on cd or it was never released on cd. I am saying Ant banks told me when they put it out they didnt have enough backing or cash to do all three mediums. So they put it on wax and tape because they figured djs would play them in those forms. Was it released, rereleased or reproduced in some other form at a later time? ya I would bet but not in 92. I am just going off what someone who worked on and was a big part of every step of the album told me.
Yeah, that's pretty much confirmation that the artists themselves didn't know about the cds.. but you gotta recognize that it wasn't put out by them.. Raw Dog is/was Treasure Line.. They changed their name to Treasure Line in '91. West Oaklanders, those who put on Underground Rebellion, Krushadelic n folks..

thats probly right, but I but I have yet to find any store or any person who actually bought this cd at any store at anytime. It has been on ebay and I know people have bought it there. Every cd that was ever put out at one time or another shows up in a store new or as a used trade in. If Mikal says he had it at his family's store Then I have to beleive him. However, Nobody else has yet to confirm it was sold anyplace else but ebay and Mikals store and a few other ebay sellers.

Like I said...I got mine from my Uncles store. It was a very well known store in Denver until it closed in 2004. Basically, I'm saying that my copy was sold retail in a retail store back when it first came out.

When my uncles store closed, he still had 3 copies of it left. I ended up with 4 of them including my personal copy, but I sold my personal copy first because it was the only copy that was open at that time. I replaced my open copy with a sealed copy. I ended up opening my last extra copy that I have left, because I got an Imac computer and wanted it in my itunes with clean scans. I'd rather open the one for sale, then my personal copy. Who wouldn't if they had a choice? Lol!
