HP P4 1.8ghz
512 mb ram
80 gig 5400 rpm hard drive
120 gig 7200 rpm hard drive
48x16x48 phillips cd burner
win xp home edition
cubase sx
Tascam us-428 control surface/ mixer

My set up works perfectly now but damn it took me 4 months just to get the damn thing up and running and im still having problems as far midi is concerned. Recording audio works great but this midi shit aint no joke. I almost scraped the whole setup and bought the vs2480cd about a month ago but im glad i diddent. The plug ins are what sold me on a pc setup in the first place. If you are gonna go with a pc setup build your comp from the ground up dont do what i did and get a shelf unit. Too many damn problems that could have been avoided and a built from scratch pc will cost about the same as a shelf unit. Just remember you need a shit load of ram and at least two hard drives and if you can afford to go with scsi hard drives do that. If you get a pc set up holla at me and i'll send you some software to get ya started.

^^^^what type of heatsink and fan do you use? i would be more concerned about the fan being quiet than the mouse or keyboard.

if anyone has a chance to snatch a vs for LESS than half price.....and they DONT do it........:dead:

i would suggest going with BOTH of them (if you have the cash)

with the setup that g-dubb listed the buyer is STILL missing one IMPORTANT thing.

soundcard/interface.

you CANT skimp and go CHEAP in this area. no time for soundblaster. so with that setup and a $150-$800 interface (like the pro tools set up) your already close to a grand or OVER a grand......

the good thing about the pc is your able to sequence/arrange run vst instruments etc etc etc. so they both have benifits.

by the way my pc setup is similar to g dubbs except i have 2 hard drives and i run a dual boot (98 and xp pro)

:H:
The fan is a Zalman CNPS 3100 with a flower heatsink.
