Its hard for games to movies to be exact becuase film makers need to find away to appeal to the masses. This usually means adding a side story, like love for instance. Silent Hill was mostly right, but they aded a few elements from each one to spice it up. There is a Silent Hill 2 on the way and im not sure what they are going to do with that one.

Actually Silet Hill was decent, but it is hard to explain. Playing Silent Hill and Silent Hill 2, there was a.....mood that was set. Hard to explain. I remember playing Silent Hill 2 in the dark, all the lights off with my surround sound blasting and remember getting spooked to the point that I stopped playing. And the movie didnt do that for me.

I feel you on hollywood having to add shit to spice it up, but sometimes that shit doesnt translate that well to the big screen. Resident Evil is a game that would translate well. But they fuked it up. i will no douby watch the third one since I have the other two so I want to see the progression of the story, but they fucked it up.

Like the Nemesis in Resident Evil 3 had a purpose. You had a background on the S.T.A.R.S. unit and Umbrella, so you can see WHY he is walking around saying "STARS" and trying to kill members of that unit. In Apocolyspe, the Nemesis and his mission from the game felt thrown in. That whole "love" shit. Hell you can argue that Alice even being in the movie fucked it up from jump snce she was never in the games. They could have started with chris and jill and still could have had a good movie. Or if you want to take the Alice route and her being an Umbrella employee, you can use Hunk instead.

Another great example of a movie being messed with too appeal to a mass audience is 300. Its not a game, but it is a graphic novel. They added the story with the politicians and the queen...and to some, that just didnt bode well. The actual graphic novel has non of that in it, just the story of the actual Spartans and the war.

Resident Evil is good for what it's worth. After the first one, I relized that the movies won't ever be near as good as the games and enjoy them for what they are worth.

Metal Gear Solid. The only way this movie would live up to expectations is if Hideo himself was directing the movie. Only he can make that movie as great as the games. But they will get some chump to direct this movie.

Halo. I don't really care much for the storyline of Halo. But could be a good movie.

World of Warcraft. Why, just why.

Silent Hill was one of my favorite so far out of the video game to movie. I hope Silent Hill 2's storyline is like the game. Where Sean Bean gets a letter in the mail from his wife and he goes to Silent Hill to look for her.

I have not read the graphic novels, but that movie PISSED ME OFF. I hadn't seen it in the theatre, so when I bought it, it was my first time watching. AND I sprng for the 34.99 HD DVD combo disc! Very disappointing

True. The thing is zombie movies have came back into the forefront. You might not make 100 million on one, but you can definately get your production cost back off ticket sales and then make more money on the DVD. Resident Evil has major backing and could have been so much better.

I watched the Hitman teaser and that doesnt look that promising. Splinter Cell I think would be decent if they took the right approach. Dont make it too James Bondey, yet keep alot of the stealth and action in it and I think that would be a decent movie. Especially double agent wherte you can go alot of different ways and keep stealth and all out action to appeal to the gamer AND summer action movie crowd

No, the fight scenes were dope. I think just from the previews and whatnot, I expected something different. kinda hard to explain. It wasnt a bad movie and is something I could definately pop in 5 years from now and enjoy, but my expectations were one place and the movie was another.
