because at the time they filed the first indictment they didn't have that evidence....now they do!

:ermm:

but if they can get him to plead guilty to the orignal charges then it saves everyone involved time and money

so the feds are gonna let vick get away with a crime that carries a 20 year sentence just to save time and money? common sense would say they would hit him with that to force his hand and accept a plea deal on the other 2 smaller charges. when has the govt ever been that forgiving?

i feel ya though its not lookin good for mike. im just lookin at the glass half full until i see evidence to suggest otherwise.

what im saying is the feds dont do that. matter of fact its their job to have filed those charges today. here, this guy wrote this on falconsroost.com and sums up my outlook on this situation well.

Yes, actually, it is possible: Michael Vick gets 130 million dollar contract to play football in the NFL. Michael Vick goes out of his way to help out folks he grew up with, and even purchases a house for them to live in. One comes up to him and says, "Hey Mike, we've been around dogs all of our lives - why not back us in starting a kennel? I'm good with dogs, and with your celebrity it will certainly turn a profit." Vick likes money, or at least likes helping his friends, so he goes for it. And in the meanwhile, when not busy staring for the Atlanta Falcons, doing everything that he does in Atlanta, Vick visits from time to time - perhaps even poses for a photograph with a dog (for promotional purposes, of course). Things start to heat up, one of Vick's friends gets into trouble with Drugs, but rather than turn his back on his friends, he sticks by them, allowing them to stay in the house.

The point of this trip to fantasyland is to say that YES, this COULD actually be the case.

It is possible still that:

Vick backed a dog breeding operation (Perfectly legal)
Vick financed all aspects of said 'operation' (Perfectly legal, even if he unknowingly funded illegal activity.)
Vick even appeared in photographs with folks who were involved in illegal activity (Perfectly legal.)
Vick was lifelong FRIENDS with people who were involved in illegal activity (Perfectly legal.)
Vick was a complete moron. (Perfectly legal.)

I am yet to see Videotape evidence of Vick at a dog fight. I am yet to see paperwork that shows any transfer of $. I am yet to see evidence (other than hearsay from less than credible witnesses) that proves that Vick did anything wrong - other than being a moron. If such evidence exists, nail him...but if it doesn't, It really does look like a witch hunt - especially since it's been handed down in a threatening "Take the plea or we'll charge you with all this other shit too" - WTF is with that? If a crime has been committed, shouldn't the feds do that anyway? If I was Vick's attorney I'd plead guilty to a minor traffic infraction and tell them to kiss my ass.

I don't know if Vick will take the plea deal, but honestly - if the only crime he's guilty of is trusting people who would ultimately take advantage of him? Should he? Would you?

If I were him, I'd probably fight it. He's now in a 'damned if ya do, damned if ya don't situation' if I've ever heard of one, but the possibility is still there that he's just a dumbass who trusted the wrong people. I guess we'll know when the plea comes...or doesn't come.

and I would tell this guy the same thing......THEY DON'T RELEASE EVIDENCE PRIOR TO A TRIAL EVEN STARTING!!!

Comprises the jury pool!

and of course where did you get that??? A Falcons message board....thats like trying to get to raiderfans.net and trying to find someone with a realitic output on the upcoming season...they all 10-6 or better....lol

go to any fan boards OTHER than Falcons and you will read unbiased truth...not biased I hopes!

oh yeah i know, either way hes goin down somehow.

im hopin he can become one of those cheesy comeback stories. i cant be mad at blank if he doesnt take him back, and i'll always be a falcon fan unless vick miraculously gets exonerated and blank still chooses to send him packing.

hopefully he gets another chance, i dont think this is the holocaust or 9/11 type atrocity the media has portrayed it as. if u do thats fine and your opinion.

Yep. If they don't catch a murder on videotape, it never happened.

That's retarded logic. He has six people that are going to testify against him...

If you have six different people testifying against you, I'm pretty sure you did it.

dont laugh so fast. all these guys have an axe to grind with vick. not one of these witnesses can possible be of good reputation, and when you combine that with the complete lack of evidence placing vick there then you have whats going on now. im sorry but if their case was that strong they wouldnt need a plea deal from vick. they know they can lose this case. the conviction rate at jury trial for what vick is facing IS 50/50 NOT THE 92 - 97 PERCENT THE MEDIA KEEPS FEEDING YOU.

word on the streets is one of the cooperating witnesses is doing 30 years for dogfighting. you think hes cooperating for the sake of justice? or does he want to see daylight before he is dead?

witnesses with questionable credibility are enough to have one juror say nah, im not gonna convict.

if the conviction rate was 90some percent the feds wouldnt be making deadlines for vick come to agreement. you either take it or leave it like the other guys did.

im wondering where davon boddie is in all of this...........

he was the primary resident at the house and the drug charge he caught that started this whole thing was NOLO PROSSED, which means it was dropped as if it had never happened.

what happens if he's their key witness? theres a news video of him claiming vicks innocence in this whole situation and taking the blame for the heat mike was taking.

Dude shoulda stayed the fuck away from those bitch muthafuckas. You live and you learn. But, that's a whole notha issue for me. I don't give a fuck about a dog. I just realized that the whole fuckin NBA is RIGGED and has been for a while. It's one thang to know it and another thang when they show it. The media is talkin about Vick, but they should be concerned with crucifying David Stern's bitch ass. Credibility only matters in that arena when you're of color I guess.
