Shaking my head....you must have been reading the red dead thread huh?
No, it's idiotic to pay $60 for a single player game..not saying its not gonna be tight, but at $60 or $15 the story doesnt change in single player games.

While games w/ MP you basically have to pick up as soon as they drop cause unless its a AAA title MP tends to dropoff within time

Personally, it is idiotic to pay $60 for a new game. After I purchase Vanquish on tuesday I won't pay full price for any game except for the PS3 LE Dead Space 2 (so I won't have to pay more for Extraction.)

The story doesn't change in a single player game? Ugh...the storyline in Mass Effect doesn't change? And that is my point. Unless you're game says HALO, COD or GEARS in the title, the MP won't be played for a long period of time.

Right now Mass Effect 2 is selling for $18 used..and its the same exact game that people paid $60 for...pure stupidity
I agree to a certain extent, however, if you have a used version of the game you don't have access to the Cerberus network, Zaeed, new weapons, etc.

I'm hearing/reading conflicting reports on this game. Some reviers have said the game is 4-6 hours in length, but the developers have actually fired back by responding on twitter with:

@pg_JP: GameInformer: "Don't be surprised if you finish your first playthrough in four hours." Really? Because it would surprise the hell out of us.
On the Vanquish board he then posted the following:

Just so you guys know, my final tuning playthrough (not trying to speed run, or bug check, but playing it like I would approach a shooter at home) was something like 6.5 hours.
I'm sorry, but if this game isn't at least 10 hours I'm not shelling out $65 (to own/play). However, I will shell out $65 for the game and the exclusive content (three guns) and sell it for a premium on craigslist.

i'm surprised by the amount of good reviews this game is getting

i don't like short games though (unless the game is spectacularly amazing e.g. uncharted 2), and i consider any game with a single player campaign less than 15 hours in length short

damn, $35 is a good deal. i'll be looking for a similar deal on 'black friday' ..have you played it yet, HERESY? opinions?
I took back the one I copped from gamestop, kept the codes, went to Kmart and copped it for $35.

I've beaten the game once on hardcore and now I'm working on the challenge mode. It took me like 12 hours to beat the game because some of the bosses take a long time to beat plus I was looking for these statues but never found them all. Now that I know how to really play the game, I can shave off 5 or more hours and bring it down. I saw a guy playing on GOD HARD (hardest difficulty) and he mainly stayed in cover and didn't use ARS (slowing down time) and he was able to run through the game. So it offers a variety of different playstyles and it was worth $35 no doubt.

Controls are tight and responsive, there are a variety of different enemies, most of the guns feel good and it's a good action. The story sucks, but there is a plot twist towards the middle and end of the game, but yeah, you wont be pushing forward to advance the story. You'll mainly be playing this to shoot and blow shit up.

PLAY or PASS?

PLAY.

PS: You will be penalized for dying so don't try to be a hero.

^^^thanks. i've missed that dreamcast-style of arcade gameplay, & this strikes me as just that. a cheezy story is almost mandatory, as is the short length of the game. i'll for sure be picking it up this weekend.
