I only read the last page of this thread but I can tell you for a fact that it is not a well known fact that the CIA controls 90% of the drug trade. The degree to which the CIA controls the drug trade can only be theorized and speculated. The first thing you would have to do is directly link the CIA with El Chapo because dude controls more than the remaining 10% (please don't post any google articles affirming their affiliation with one another). Further, the term "control" as it applies here is very ambiguous.

I think breh-Infamous is just pointing out that you're being oddly-specific. You should have just said "the CIA controls much of.." and I'm sure there would have been no arguement from anyone.

Lol I didn't even read much past what your post, just was adding that Iran contra shows they do have a hand in drug trafficking. You are right though that no one knows how much of a hand they have in it though.. It is extremely retarded to say that the cia controls or even had a hand in 90 % of drugs trade. Most likely they just look the other way and don't pursue certain players in trafficking, because they would jeopardize something they are doing or damage diplomatic relations with a country.

90% is a big jump from 60%. and besides because it's been said doesnt mean it's a well known fact. like most people think the govt had it's hand in 9/11 but it isnt a fact considering no one admitted to it and whatnot. i think you misinterpret the defintion of fact.

Here's a theory of mine. I don't have any evidence to back it up as of yet. I'm not trying to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but here's what I think.

The whole war on drugs was never a war to begin with. It seemed like a continuous triangle for three industries to get paid.
1. Drug dealers make tons of money in an illegal business sector, the government allows them to do this as long as they don't get too sloppy and make it too obvious. This illegal business sector has a real demand, but its illegal. The government, however, still wants the money that sector makes. Then when that dealers hits a certain level, federal agents swoop in, shut the party down and confiscate all the money and dope. The money and dope, of course, goes back to the government.
2. After the confiscation, the drug Kingpin and all of his workers are sent to prison. So now the prisons are making money off of the inmates' labor.
3. The government then turns around and puts the dope right back on the street and repeat the process again. Of course they have to bust the petty dealers to make the war appear real. I'm not making a conspiracy out of it. To me, it sounds like pure economics.

I really don't understand why the government would even go through all this when legalizing certain drugs would make them more money than doing it on the DL.
