Yeah high off extasy, shrooms or other hallucinogen, fuck that. That's what Raves are for. I want to be able to chill out to my rap music and hear sick basslines, melodies/chords, smooth lyrics,etc... None of this retarded TOM drum sounding 808 kicks or techno/trance influenced sounds with retarded ass rappers babbling and barking like idiots on the mic.
i feel the EXACT same way. i can't stand new rap.

I don't know, it beats me. I know it's still possible though because I still hear a lot of good G-Funk style beats with Latino rappers. A lot of Latino rappers be trying to keep it G still, but they need help from the blacks no doubt. Rarely if ever do I hear a Latino rapper come out with a Crunk style beat. "Times are changing" is always the same old lame excuse I hear. But what I want to know is, WTF caused the times to change so much? Now we got all this Crunk/Hyphy $hit, now all that $hit is WACK IMO. I'll never bump that shit in my car or house, I'll be embarrassed to. I would rather just go to a rock concert or rave.

It's hard to like all this new shit, after hearing all the quality stuff that came out in the 90's. Lyrics and beats are just stupid as hell now, all tacky and they throw in whatever to fill up a track. Back then rappers and producers were more like "real" musicians, now we got a bunch of copy-cat, Fruity-Looped indueced fools.

real talk, that's why i hate the bay nowadays (and i was one of the biggest fans of bay rap back in the 90s).
the beats are so wack, i just don't understand how someone can like that shit!? next year they'll prolly perform at the love parade in berlin, lol, that's where all them x-kiddies go...

That's what I'm saying man! I was a big fan of the bay as well back in the 90s. But now, it's all pretty much $hit, especially the beats. For me, it all starts with the beat, if the beat is str8 WACK like most of the $hit now, I won't listen to it. And usually a wack beat = shitty ass lyrics as well so they go hand n hand. Beats were sick back then, thus usually getting some true hard lyrics. Mentalities were str8 G back then, now everyone is all gay. WTF happened?!?!?!

yeah man, IMO the real westcoast we know and love has to continue with tha phunk involved somehow, someway because it remains timeless, be it g-funk, bay mobb shit whatever. crunk, hyphy trash is like fast-food taco bell, mcdonalds shit, no soul. While listening to G-funk was about as tasty as barbecue food, check the videos. stay real.

Thank you, exactly!

Hopefully "tha phunk" comes back. G-Funk is TRUE westcoast, that's for sure. G-Funk is what made rap big on the west with them big phat bouncy low-key basslines, chords, phat snare/clap hits, and hi-pitched keyboad lead sound that Dr. Dre made so famous in the Chronic album, now they all getting away from it and bitting off the South's new sound. I say let them do their wierd ass club videos & songs and rapping about grills, and us stay G! All this crunk/hyphy shit is tacky as hell.

I say all this crunk/hyphy shit is just a big marketing ploy. Their only doing it for the easy $$$ because it's much more easy to go mainstream with this shit since it sounds more happy and less violent than the shit that came out in the 90s. That's why I don't understand why so many fools be supporting this shit. They say times are changing, well I say FUCK YOU it's not, rappers are just getting greedy. They know they don't have to put all their true heart & effort inorder to sell big because they know kids will buy either way and clubs/radio will play it. It's all a big F-ing scam, they got so many fools hypnotized, not me.

Just listen to older E-40, then listen to his new shit. WTF happened? Well you know what?!?!?! EASY $$$$, that's what happened. Same with Three 6 Mafia, I know their from the South, but their older shit was str8 SICCNESS and this new album of them is a piece of junk and just a big copy-cat of everything else out in the South right now.

Real G's, please Step up and put an end to this embarassment and bandwagon hopping bullshit.
