I didn't. You won't fully understand the relationships between Drake and some of the other characters, but it's still playable and enjoyable. You'll be focusing on what's happening now, not what happened in Uncharted, so nah you don't need to beat it.
i'm at the stupid part where i got to match the statues with the directions in the library. i think the statues got to face the way they do on the book but i keep fucking up
agree with the opening scene. very fun game. rented over the week and got it yesterday from Gamefly. I couldn't put the game down and ended up going to bed at 3am. the graphics are beautiful.
