Uncharted 2's multiplayer is getting more love, with upcoming downloadable content focusing more on the competitive and less on the cooperative.

Naughty Dog multiplayer designer Justin Richmond spoke to Eurogamer at Sony's London HQ recently, revealing that he'll be working on downloadable content for the game for the foreseeable future, and while he's "fascinated" by cooperative gameplay, time and size constraints will keep the focus on the competition.

"What you'll probably see is more of the competitive type: more maps, more modes, stuff like that. The co-op stuff is hugely time-intensive and the size of it - the physical download size - is huge, so that's probably not an option. I'm not going to say never, but for the foreseeable future we're not going to be doing that."
That doesn't mean there won't be more cooperative in the franchise's future, however, with Richmond explaining that he'd be keen to explore playing together in future Naughty Dog titles.

"Naughty Dog does a really good job of defining things, and I think no one's really done a definitively amazing amazing co-op experience and I think we can do that, and it's something that at some point we'll tackle," he said. "If I have my say, then that's what we'd do."

Hopefully it don't freeze like the first one. I just bought Drakes Fortune and it froze repeatedly, 10 minutes in until i got an update on my ps3. I thought the first one had online too, but i was disappointed. However the campaign is tite!

For those who've played it, is the storyline easy to follow or do I need to go rent Uncharted before I play this one?
i dont think there is much continuation from the previous story apart from a few characters returning

for those who have played, how fun is the multiplayer really? i have only had a go at the beta.. what weapons can you use? what are the maps like? how many game types are there?

So far i've only played 3 new maps that were not on the beta. I was kinda hoping for more but i'm sure they'll have a map pack in the future. They kinda got a perk system thats similar to call of duty tho. I like the camera angles, it's tite how you can run in one direction and still see whats behind you. Shits addictive as fuck..lol

Honestly, if I were you I'd go rent, or buy the first one and play that. Not only will you be up on the story line, but the first game was amazing too. Only took me 9 or 10 hours to beat, and it's down to like $30 now. If not, no big deal but you can't go wrong playing the first one.

I had the first one but traded it for MGS4. I think I might rent it and beat it just so I'm up to speed on the story.
