LOL @ Joe Rogan..."Alistar has no respect whatsoever for Brock's standup". What standup? He has none. He'll run over a muthafucka (literally). If not that, he'll get you on the ground and hit you with those gay ass hammerfists. There may've been a fight or two where he's thrown some knees. I was actually surprised to see him start the fight by throwing leg kicks. You rarely see either in he Heavyweight division (if ever). They usually just standup and bang, which is what I like to see anyway.
I don't like to see fights where they stall or the ref has to separate them. Let them punch, kick, or manuever their way out. IMO, ppl hyped Brock up more than they should have. Yes, he's got an outstanding collegiate wrestling background, but when it comes to mixed martial arts, he's not all that great. Mixed martials arts is more than just wrestling. I'm sure it has its foundations in wrestling and a lot of the holds are baed off of it. However, seeing as how it is mixed martial arts (MMA), it "might" be advantageous to have more than one skill set. Not that its absolutely necessary, but it is MMA. I'm sure there have been lots of fighters who've been very successful with one form of fighting in their repitoire. It may work for some; it may not work for others.
