After re-watching this fight (sober), I can't hold nothing in this fight against GSP. Very minimal time spent on the ground, and he's a fucking surgeon on the feet.

Take note:

The jab will forever be the most important punch you can ever throw.

^thats great but im not talking about boxing. look who fedor has faced and beat. the man has one real loss on his record that only came in the last year while facing good competition.

You all talk shit about GSP for being a safe player? Only 9 out of the 30+ of Fedors wins have been knockouts...

And Fedor has 2 losses on his record. And yes they are real losses, they are on his professional fighting record.

And post the interview where couture says that Fedor is his superior, I'd want to see that shit...I know that a lot of people want to see the 2 fight, so someone did probably ask him about it in a interview.

Couture is like 48 years old or some shit though. His fighting career is over lol

lol anyone who says that has no idea what they're talking about. It's the worst "loss" in combat sports.
For the millionth time...
Fedor was in a one night tournament for RINGS. He fought Kohsaka in the semifinals. Kohsaka cut Fedor with an elbow a minute into the fight. Elbows were illegal. The cut was too bad for Fedor to fight in the finals so they gave him a loss so that Kohsaka could take his place. And in the finals he would have faced... Randy Couture.

The elbow thing is iffy to me. Cuz it was an illegal strike there, but shouldn't be.. I mean, he takes an elbow like that in the UFC, he legitly loses.. But it wasn't the UFC.. But it's still a loss on the record.

But, I think he has to be getting worse never fighting anymore.. i don't think the fedor of three years ago would have got caught in a triangle.. That's pretty amateur. He needs to be more active.

Randy Couture has 7 knockouts and lost at UFC 46 from a cut to his eye due to a punch, calm down grasshopper.
Yes, I never once said that couture didn't lose that fight. He couldn't take the cut, therefore he loses. lmao, I'm not emotionally attached to him like some of ya'll are with fedor I just enjoy watching dude fight

I'm referring to coutures fighting in general (pre UFC, pan american shit). I don't feel like watching fedor roll on the floor for 5 hours in that sambo footage haha

Well I don't care for Fedor but if he got elbowed you can bet he had a severe cut, it happens and it doesn't make someone a pussy just for throwing the towel in to avoid serious infection or injury..

Even some of the best strikers in the buisness perfer going for a submission on the ground to end things quickly without risking losing the fight.

Lots of GSP haters.

Oh well. Let's see if I can dispell some "myths" about what GSP haters always say.

GSP can't finish fighters

He has 8 (T)KO wins, AND 5 Submission wins (that's 13 stoppages for those of you who can't count), which is MORE than his 8 career decision wins.

GSP is just a wrestler, he can't strike for shit

I hope people stop this garbage sometime soon, because it's by far the most ignorant statement ever. He beat the shit out of Fitch standing up, and jabbed Koscheck's orbital bone into fucking pieces. He is probably the most complete well-rounded fighter in the WW division. You don't just not know how to strike when you train with people like Freddie Roach or Phil Nurse. Sorry haters, GSP knows how to fight standing up.

GSP is a boring Lay'N'Pray/Wall'N'Stall artist

I can't express enough how the terms "Lay'N'Pray" and "Wall'N'Stall" are so overused, it's pathetic. It's now become the term for anyone who wins by decision. Never mind actually watching the fight, most fans seem content with looking at Wikipedia or Fight Finder and reading the result. "Oh, GSP won by decision, AGAIN!? Another fucking L'n'P victory for GSP I guess, DERP!!!"

I wish, for once, people would actually admit to just being biased GSP haters rather than trying to act like they're talking objectively and looking at his recent fights with an unbiased eye.

Let's look at his last 5 fights, shall we?

GSP vs. Jon Fitch (wrestler): Great matchup with the two top WW guys in the UFC. Fitch is more of a wrestler than a striker, so what was GSP's gameplan? Yep, he beat the shit out of Fitch standing up. Yeah it went to a decision, but you've seen the gifs in here.... It wasn't BORING.

GSP vs. B.J. Penn (striking, BJJ): Let's face it, B.J. Penn can be one of the most exciting fighters in the UFC, or he can be really off and get his ass beat. It's no secret that BJ's best assets are both his striking AND his BJJ. So what did GSP do? He wrestled BJ's ass and ground and pounded BJ until his corner threw in the towel.

GSP vs. Thiago Alves (striker): Wrestlefucked.... Alves is an elite top level WW fighter with a striking game that can be absolutely devastating (a la Jose Aldo) when he chooses to really employ it. GSP isn't stupid enough to stand and bang with someone like that, ergo, wrestling and ground and pound wins the day here.

GSP vs. Dan Hardy (striker): Hardy has KO power... we've seen it. GSP won't brawl with a brawler.... what was surprising (I think it even caught GSP off guard) was Hardy's ability to get out of those submission attempts GSP tried. Yes, he did try to finish that fight, I don't care what GSP haters like to say. Hardy's time with the Matt Serra BJJ camp proved to be invaluable.

GSP vs. Josh Koscheck (wrestler): I know people wanted to believe Koscheck was some sort of great striker now that he knocked out Yoshida, etc. But let's face it, Koscheck is just a wrestler who thinks he's a striker. And just like Alves, and Hardy (I believe), Koscheck got into the cage with GSP and was star-struck a bit. It's the only way I can see Koscheck doing almost nothing the entire fight while GSP pounded on him.

And how did he manage that? Well, first round, GSP not only used the quick jab to keep Koscheck at bay, but he also changed levels, went for takedowns, and kept Koscheck not only guessing but on the defensive. This meant that Koscheck couldn't get the timing on GSP's jabs down until later, after he had his orbital bone fucked.

You can hate on GSP for having 4 decisions out of his last 5 fights. But to say his fights are boring and that he's a Lay and Pray or Wall and Stall artist is just wrong, it's just biased, and you're just a hater for saying it.

Still, the world needs haters too I suppose, and GSP must be doing something right if he's cleaned out the entire WW division without taking any damage and beating people with gameplans that exploit their weaknessess.

Finally, I'd like to say something to BROWN GUERRERO whom comes to my house all the time to watch the UFC fights and told me after the Maia/Silva fight:

"It's up to Demian Maia to bring the fight to Silva. If the fight was boring, maybe the challenger should have brought the fight to the champion to make it an exciting fight."

To which I'd love to say now:

"If you thought the GSP/Koscheck fight was so boring, why don't you blame Koscheck (who you rooted for so loudly in the weeks leading up to the fight). It's up to Koscheck to bring the fight to GSP, so why are you still hating on GSP for having another "boring" fight?"

Now..... come at me, bro. :D

As for the Fedor/RINGS loss, I believe it goes something like this:

Fedor gets cut from an illegal elbow (elbows are illegal in RINGS).

The doctor stops the fight because the cut is so bad.

In RINGS, if a fighter cannot continue on in the tournament, it's ruled as a loss. There are no "No Contests" allowed in the RINGS rules. Therefore, although Fedor should have received probably a NC on his record (in any other given org where elbows are illegal and a fight is stopped from an illegal elbow, a NC is issued), RINGS rules say a fighter either wins or loses. Since Fedor could not continue, he was issued a loss.

That is why many people regarded Fedor as undefeated, because it should have been a NC and not a loss, but because of the weird rules in RINGS, it was a loss instead.

That's how I have been told it went down.

TIMM YOU ARE A DUMB ASS. SORRY BUT UMM AS MUCH AS I RESPECT RANDY AS A FIGHTER AND A PERSON... (MET THE CAT A FEW TIMES) AT THIS POINT IN TIME, FEDOR IS THE BETTER FIGHTER. RANDY WILL BE A CONSIDERED A LEGEND BUT JUST COMPARING RECORDS ALONE, FEDOR GETS THE BIGGER LEGEND TITLE.
I NEVER SAID SHIT ABOUT GSP, BUT I WILL ADMIT I LIKE HOW HE LEARNED HOW TO FINALLY USE A JAB NOW MAYBE FOR HIS NEXT FIGHT HE'LL LEARN HOW TO USE THAT JAB IN A COMBO OR SOMETHING AND TAKE HIS OPPONENT OUT. I'M TIRED OF SEEING ALL THESE MMA FIGHTERS SAYING THEY BEEN WORKING ON THEIR BOXING BUT CANT THROW A DECENT 1,2,3 COMBO IF THEIR LIVES DEPENDED ON IT.
