Vera needed to push the action more.. but i do think vera did enough to win... but these days u gotta go crazy for the judges to give u the win... Couture had a lot of octagon control yes... he landed shots yes.. but not any devastating shots... vera stuffed takedowns and actually got a takedown or 2 of his own in... he hurt couture every round and i seriously think it at least shoulda been a split for vera.... unanimous for couture was the wrong call.

its the judges bro... not the ufc...
Regardless, casual fans don't look at the current state of the UFC and say, "Wow the judges are fucked up". They're like, "Where are all of the meaningful fights?"

Or

"TUF 10 sucks"

Or

"Kimbo Slice sucks."

Or

"After all the shit talking, Rampage aint even gonna fight?"

Or

"Who the fuck is Junior Dos Santos?"

Or

"Rashad Evans ... He's a fighter right?"

Or

"We get it Dana White, UFC is the greatest thing since sliced bread"

Or

"Couture vs Vera? Fuck Randy Couture's old ass. Randy Couture sucks and they keep pushing his old ass in my face."

I'm one of those cats that doesn't get the whole Captain America thing, so maybe I'm bias.

To me (one man's opinion of course) the UFC product as a whole has taken a decent hit ever since the Roy Nelson / Kimbo Slice fight. Shit has just gone bad in terms of shitty judging, or uninteresting fights, injured champions, etc... All of that shit reflects back on the product.

dan hardy getting the next title shot is gay. hardy isnt going to be able to get into gsps head and convince him not to take him down and beat the shit out of him.

The only way any welterweight will beat GSP is to do it the way that Serra did it.. Catch a lucky shot early in the fight and stun him and pound him out..

Nobody is nearly at his level in the weight level. At least in his ability to put his opponents on the ground and not let them up.

After Bisping fizzled out they needed to push someone from Eng-Land, lol

I say if Rumble knocks Kos' block off in spectacular fashion, Hardy would have to take a back seat or at least fight Rumble in a contender's match. Not saying Rumble deserves a shot at GSP yet, but shit Hardy doesn't either and who else is left?

The only problem with that is that's at least another six to eight months before GSP has to defend his title.

Rumble is the guy to beat GSP. Not saying he will for sure. But I think he's big and strong enough to stay on his feet and box. GSP's only weakness that I can see is that he doesn't have a granite chin.

Rumble is explosive enough to catch him and nighty night him, and I would love to see that fight.

Thiago didn't have the wrestling to match up with GSP.

Rumble supposedly does and is athletic enough to keep up with GSP. He'd most likely get subbed if it stayed on the ground for too long though

Koscheck didn't have the wrestling to keep up with GSP.. No way that Rumble does.. Nobody in that division is even close..

I expect Koscheck to LNP his way to victory over Rumble.. So, I don't think he'd have a chance at all to beat GSP.

2 different dudes man. Maybe it's not so much the wrestling as it is the athleticism that keeps the fight on its feet where Rumble would want it.

Rumble has pretty quick reflexes if you don't count his lack of head movement. I can see him catching somebody (Kos or GSP) with a knee when they shoot

I don't know.. He got choked out by Rich Clementi, and was pretty much controlled on the ground in that fight.. He has never fought a great wrestler.. I don't buy all the hype on him yet.. I think the Kos fight will really tell that.. I expect Kos to LNP him for a decision.. Maybe a TKO after tiring him out..

I also don't think the UFC will give Rumble a title shot any time soon because of his knack for not making weight. I know he didn't make it for the Clementi fight and also his fight against Yoshida.

So, he'll have to have a few more fights and make weight before I think he gets a title shot.

He took the Clementi fight on like 9 days notice or something crazy like that. The Yoshida fight, he clearly fucked that up (then fucked Yoshida up). So he only missed weight once.

If he knocks the bleach out of Kos' hair in Rashad Evans/Liddell fashion, the UFC might at least have to consider a contenders match with Hardy.

I still haven't seen the Clementi fight, but shit, that was what? Two years ago at least? Can't really hold a performance like that against him if it was that long ago

couture vs vera was bullshit. you could tell vera took it easy on couture all the way thru to keep it a 3 round decision. vera couldve easy destroyed couture any given second.
