Ok, this gets a lil weirder:
Roy Jones Jr asked if he wants the Winner
At a recent conference to help hype Roy Jones Jr vs Tito Trinidad, set for Jan. 19 (HBO pay-per-view, 9 p.m.) at Madison Square Garden, Jones Jr was on hand to answer an assortment of questions from the media. One of the questions asked of Jones Jr was if he would like to face the winner of Mike Tyson vs Evander Holyfield.
A report has surfaced that Tyson is interested in fighting Holyfield for a thrid time.
At the conference Jones Jr. was asked: "There is a report that Tyson wants to fight Holyfield a third time. Could you see yourself fighting the winner?"
Jones Jr. answered the question, stating: “I could see myself fighting the winner of anything.”
Jones Jr. went on to add: “After losing to Tarver and Johnson, I needed to get myself back physically—not only physically but mentally also. You don't want to go out like that. I had to go back and do something different. I had to go back and redefine myself. You need to go back and re-motivate yourself. I needed to go back and find myself and see what is going on.”
Jones Jr. was also asked if he'd fight Calzaghe at super middleweight?
Jones Jr: “I am fighting Trinidad at 170, so what's two more pounds?”
