I copped this CD from D-Sane the other day and I'm feelin' it a lot. My favorite tracks so far are "Gangsta Shit Pt. 2", "Swisher Heat", "Cocc It & Shoot" and "You Don't Know Twin Game." Good shit, Twin!

"Cocc it N Shoot" is a remake of sorts of the old H-Town song "Knockin' the Boots".....you're probably too young to remember it though.
I checked out the H-Town song, it's good.

The super-original form of that cut is Zapp & Roger Troutman "Be Alright." It's the one Pac sampled with "Keep Ya Head Up."

Pac's song more resembles the Zapp & Roger b/c it uses the little guitar twang thing before the main baseline.

Twin's more resembles the H-Town because of the singing and also duel symmetry with the lyrical schemes. My favorite of that was when in the H-Town they say:
"Late night, when we made good love, listening to some Marvin Gaye all night long"
vs.
"Late night, banging with some thugs, listening to some LAC of RESPECT all night long."

^^ D-Sane gradually getting a little more soulful, I like it. "2 People" still knocks with that Minnie Ripperton (and that song actually was one of the sampled songs that got me into sample digging and older r&b/funk/soul in general, now I've got like 400 samples and impress older people with my 21-year-old knowledge of people like Gil Scott-Herron and Bobby Blue Bland).

Good cut, my favorite verse on the album is 151's, he comes deliberate and smooth as usual.

Yeah.....I know. I had to totally remake the beat from scratch....so I had to dig up the Zapp sample, chop it up, tune it, lace some new drums & bassline over it and POW! New song.

Well you did a good job, especially with the baseline and drums. Just like "2 People" it keeps the smooth melody but jazzes up the rest of the beat, makes it bang a little.
