personally if you want my perspective sd niggas need to leave sd and step the OT hustle up. thats the only way anyone in sd will ever become successful. we cant sit in our lil bubble and sell albums and hope they dont get downloaded and expect that cd to just cake. it aint even like that

but alot of therse dudes lived in they one lil area forever and dont understand that. the more they got out to different places the more theyd connect and relate with out of towners and have a space somewhere else..people dont do that anymore..the whole 2100 miles in your car to do a show shit..
word...or at least travel north of the 8 freeway. lol

dont get me wrong, after all said and done, im copin anything from sd that come out. i think if sd united we could get shit done but people letting their pride hold em back

banged out my ass, when a red rag and a blu rag can smoke weed together, make money together, knock bitches together, sometimes even party together,MAKE RECORDS TOGETHER, i am a strong believer that there is room for unity.

its like, choose if u hate them niggas or not, dont be on some bk or ck shit one day, then the next day you wit ya crip homeboy sippin a 40 talkin about the last function yall went to and how good the california burrito from that taco shop up the street is.

i got family from every set, like any daygo relative, but quite frankly, if niggas can make some money, they will become colorblind to teh point where they can only see green

that one thing about daygo as banged out as it is red and blue always equaled green and i dont mean lincoln either and i dont think you can find a classic album in daygo that didnt have a both crips and bloods on it either beat wise of feature wise...

and daygo is more united then you think just cause niggas aint on the 4 corners of death singing we are the world holding hands dont mean its not united

yall niggas dont buy albums. you dont deserve for people to continue putting out albums.

i hope music dies becuase of piracy.

fuck greedy ass music fans. it will come back to bite you.

i dont say that cuz my moneys gettin fucked with i see it second hand. so fuck people who complain you dont do shit to change anything. but pirate music. and then give a fuckin' review so more niggas pirate it.

forget it, fuck what you want. i can understand that. id put out music for myself. this game is stupid.

you might make a lil money but 10,000 aint shit

i wouldnt sell a album to anyone i didnt know just like dope right now

i think the crack game in 2009 might still be more lucrative
you expect for people to make music underneath these terms...you got it fucked up...your asking for more than you contribute to keep it moving

i wouldnt rap either..better fuckin shit a nigga could be doin besides goin to the studio for you to download it

You can't blame the consumer if your music sucks. Yeah a lot of people will burn it, but a lot of people will go out and support as well and you will be successful if your shit is dope. A lot of people really feelin' themselves and their music need to be told the truth that their shit is garbage and sounds like everything else...

Also, anybody can make a record these days. It used to be tough to scrounge up money, go in the studio and your shit had to be perfect... cuz you were paying out the ass for it!! Now all artists do is get blazed, drunk, and spit some wack ass shit in their closet. I need to hear a few good tracks before I support someone or a project..

Of course the West Coast doesn't support their own like the south.. that is a big influence... look what Baby Bash did?... he went straight to Texas.

Really I don't ever see SD having a big music scene and the best thing a rapper can do is build a nice buzz like Mitchy Slick and then get the fuck up outta Dago and try to make it on a larger scale. Point blank. Call me a nay-sayer but it ain't happening for Dago

I think it also has alot to do with over-saturation...Im not one to tell a man to put the mic down but 95% of people who attempt to make music, just don't have the ear for it.

this leads to the people who support local hip hop, not being able to find the people they should support.

also dudes coming straight out with albums now out the gate???? what happened to paying your dues on features, doing a DEMO??? then maybe a mixtape once you drum up support. Then releasing an album once you have the relationships and the resources to do so professionally.

a big thing in SD is folks are making music for other rappers....that won't get you anything but a co-sign or a pat on the back. The "people" buy the music..

but see the thing is this, the south supports their artists. we dont.
Very tre but I can't support alot everything coming from the West...Some of this shit is garbage....The people I am feeling like Mitch,C-Way Music, Yuk, Nipsey, Lynch etc. i support to the fullest....Some f the shit is weak though...Some of the artist that get alot of praise on the Sicc are garbage...Esp in the BART....The south can support as much wack shit as they like thats on them but I wouldn't reccomend a cat out here to support some bullshit just cuz its from the Pacific.

everyone in cash money was going gold before a major deal. and thats why they got the deal that they got, and thats why cash money is where they are now.
No CMR artist went even close to gold before they got that deal....they were selling very good on the indie level and garnered alot of attention though but for the most part they got that deal because of BG.

check the numbers if you need to, new orleans supported cash money and no limit. local music in new orleans surpassed all other record sales. does san diego do that for san diego music? no.
San Diego has a bunch of haters..Period...I see it on these boards all the time so I'm sure its going on in the streets cuz alot of the haters on these boards are gang affiliates from the streets.

niggas dont have computers where they live. do you get what im sayin?'
Alot of people out there do have computers...its 2009 and we are in Ammerica...I'm not saying everybody has one but alot do..Even Soulja Boy's broke ass had a computer at home.

alot of people expect MC's to sound like they want them, and if they don't sound familiar to them...they shut it down before they even give it a chance...

it's all art and creation, some better than others, some more original than others, and some higher quality than others...

but bottom line, the people that aren't making good music, know that they aren't making good music, but they just want to impress people.
