My personal albums "NEVER" sported what you would call quality covers from lets say a SHEMP, and I own 2 Houses, A piece of Property and make a living soley from the music industry so I have to disagree about your heavy position on how much a cover means to the buying public (think I am lying ask C-4). In the day and age of Digital Downloads artwork is going to mean even less. Kids 10-17 don't care about artwork anymore on a large scale. I have cousins 7-13 that have NEVER EVEN OWNED A CD.

We are going to get these units to move through HARD WORK. I am getting out and grinding. What I have done my entire life. It was brought to my attention that you can promote on the siccness and reach a larger scale so that is what I am doing. It has worked. I have moved a few Damien cds as a direct result of this post (wish I could say the same for M-Finiti), so thanks for your remarks and you wishing me good luck. I AM "BLESS", luck never plays a part.

One,
Anybody who pays their bills, especially their house note soley from the Music Industry, is not only a hustler, but very business minded in this fickle ass industry. People need to really listen to what your saying. I don't know too many bay area rappers with houses they OWN.

Grown Folks got Grown Bills and NEED to be PAID monthly...

Thank You for the words man. It has been getting tougher and tougher. I just brought my first child into this world, and now I have to push that line even harder then before. I will make sure she is provided for.

From the moment I open my eyes in the morning until I close my eyes at night I am working. My only time off is Sundays during Football Season.

I just hope that the buying public in this economy will give M-Finiti and Damien a chance. It could be via iTunes, www.cdbaby.com or in the local record store. I just want the chance to make my money back from "BLESSING" these artists with the chance to live their dreams and share their music. I hope that the good karma comes back around to me.

One Luv,

Going hard again for 2009. More and more Record Stores have closed their doors. We lost the Urban Life Hip Hop Shop in Concord a few months ago when they closed their door and that was a nice little networking/hangout spot.

I know it has only been a week and a day into the New Year but how have the street sales been going for everyone? My team is getting our game plan together and will be hitting the market hard in February.

We have been working really hard pushing the Merchandising. T-Shirts, Long Sleeve T-Shirts, Sweat Shirts and Ect. right now. T-Shirt sales for myself have been doing good and also my Digital Downloads on my back catalog.

The Industry says 90% of their income is from physical distribution with digital making up the rest. Some times its odd pushing a product that's not physically there, as a artist I most likely say " go get it on itunes" or whatever you download music from. Pushing both seems the way to go even though Physical does cost you in the end far as returns. I still want physical distribution but I'm trying to keep cost down.

@SMMWEST,

I have been reading this post and I respect your hustle. I understand how hard it can be specially when it "seems" that your team does not want to put the effort into selling themselves.

I am a rapper and I have my own record label and I am based out of Seattle. Being from Seattle is bad enough in the fact that we really do not have a scene, a movement, fanbase and local music support. The game is really fucked up around here.

I like the bay, not just because the abundance of talent, but the fans support the artists, the radio supports the artist, most of the record stores support the artist, and artists support eachother.

To me, that's true Hip Hop!

I am looking to expand into the Bay Area Music Scene. Our music is influenced by the bayand we have been major supporters of Bay music, so it is only natural that we be apart of the music scene. I am interested in connecting with you in regards to promotions, shows and whatever else might be beneficial to both of us (I am interested in any and all ideas). My work ethic is inpeccable. I am not rich, I work two jobs to support my family and my music. I have released two albums and five compilations. I am getting ready to release a group album Turf Grindaz "Poundin' Tha Pavement"

Please feel free to check me and my group out @ www.myspace.com/cinatra & www.myspace.com/turfgrindaz

I look forward to any and all feedback (Positive or negative)

PEACE & BLESSINGS

I am going to go check out your stuff. I am trying to work with a producer named Sun E. Friday for some of my artists right now and he is out of Seattle. I have an artist named Huey who is originally from Portland Oregon so we are looking into expanding into the Northwest shortly.

I now truly understand what you mean about NOT being rich. I made about half in 2008 of what I made in 2007. Although I wasn't as hard on my hustle because of life issues. 2009 though I will be back 100% to where I once was.

I look forward to networking with you. I truly like to connect with like minded artists. It is easy to work with a grounded, mature and professional individual.

did u ever make it to back door disc n tape in cotati..... if u do holla @ me
I didn't personally but I sent a homie out there. I am going to try to make it out there within the next few weekends because I want to try to workout some in-store placements with them. It as you know is different now since they aren't independently owned by the former owner RICK and are now swallowed up by a larger company. I need a huge Street Masters Magazine WESTCOAST display in there. I will work it, I just gotta barter.

The L-Love "Do Yo' Thang (E.P.)" is almost sold out everywhere and as it was a Rare Limited Edition it will not be repressed or reprinted. If you want a Hard Copy of the cd then you better act now.

After the last cds are gone it will only be sold via iTunes (already up on iTunes).
