Okay so Psilo, Cranky and myself have been going around and around about the new Tool record for a minute but....

...has anyone else pick up Pearl Jam's new self titled release? I took a break from Tool and threw it in about two hours ago and let if flow all the way through and it is a great fucking cd. It goes back to the raw energy they had on Ten. Highlights to me are Comatose, Severed Hand, Marker in the Sand and Come Back.

Very political record. Eddie doesn't hold back how he feels at all.

I'd say after one full listen and then a go back to the stand out tracks that this is easily my 2nd favorite Pearl Jam album right behind Ten.

Hmmm.. well I dont think im experienced enough with their whole catalog to call myself a true fan, but I definitely have liked a few of their albums a lot. My friend introduced me to Vs., so that was the first time I heard them (8th grade maybe? haha shit), and I love that CD. I like Ten a lot too. Besides those 2, the only other ones ive heard enough to recognize are Yield (which i think is pretty cool) and Lost Dogs (which i didnt like much).

Ive always been meaning to check out all of their other stuff, but for some reason it always slips my mind, or some other group has me obsessed (like whats happening to us right now, lol). But im pretty sure i can download this cd and listen to it unbiased and open.. even though im not too knowledgeable about them as a whole.

Yeah I love Ten and Vitalogy. Vs and Yield were alright to me...the songs on them were kind of hit and miss. Lost Dogs is cool for what it is as a collection of b-sides, rareties and songs from their club mailing lists.

I kind of worded what I meant wrong. I meant I really don't see this album appealing to a younger audience who have NEVER heard Pearl Jam. I think fans and casual listeners will like it a lot.

I read somewhere else that this was a really good CD......back to listening to TOOL, lmao.....
I just went for a stroll around my neighborhood and put the new Pearl Jam in the cd player. It is up there with Ten now I think after listening to it a few times. Severed Hand is a fucking awesome song.

I had to get out of Tool mode for a little while. I'm about to throw 10,000 Days back on though and finish my homework.

Oh did I mention that right now Tool is putting on what I am positive is an amazing show about 6 or so blocks from where I live:mad:
