Dats what I'm sayin mayne.....but I don't think any of these mixtapes will get THAT big that would actually draw some attention like that.....

Personally, I don't support MixTapes that are being sold.....Some of em are defenitly bangin, I do bump em, but I aint gonna ever buy em.....:eek:

Record Companies dont care about Mixtapes becuz one most likely they have already been paid off that music, 2. Most of the time the rapper aint hot so he makes the listener want to go back and buy the original so thats promo. And 50 cent sold 250,000 w/o clearing shit and nobody said a thing! Mix tapes have been around as long as tapes itself

They sure can.

You're still using copyrighted material without authorization. Now, if you were to do a parody of the originial, then it would be legally protected. The fact is, record companies have turned their thinking to view mixtapes as great promotional tools and tend not to interfere with them even though they may feature works that violate copyrights.

Why not just produce albums with mainstream beats? This is exactly why I laugh when I hear rappers talking about hard, grimey beats. Take 2Pac for example; his best work was over R&B beats! But you can't explain that to some rappers so they try to sound like him and miss the mark. It's important not to duplicate the artist. Duplicate the formula... my opinion
