English is a required language to learn in all other countries. I know a lady from Germany and said that school over there requires them to learn to speak, read & write English. Japan is the same thing.
With that said, when in the United States, learn the proper language. Yet, you are free to speak whatever language you'd like, whenever & where ever you'd like.

Now I have a different perspective.
If someone doesnt speak your language, or doesnt speak it well, why not let them speak the way it comes natural to them?
The same way you take some people from the hood do not obviously talk in the "King's" english. Now you take a upper class or whatever white person they not gonna understand it. But they wouldnt ask them to speak proper english thats outta line.
Cause thats just the way they talk. Also maybe they are talkin about you but at the end of the day its insecurity. Let em talk. And also its not always about you. People assume they steady talkin shit its not just that.
Now I can speak OK Spanish not great but im cool, and yea people talk about you sometimes but really thats not even 5 percent of what theyre saying.
So you can get bent outta shape about it or just let people be them and if they respect you they will treat you right. And if they dont respect you, or if they stay talkin shit thats on them. The other option is to try and learn the languag, which to me is fulfilling in and of itself.
Right now I speak OK French and OK Spanish if I could I'd speak every language because to me it opens up your perspective. Use someone who speaks a different language as an opportunity to learn.
To me a different language is more than just a different language its a different mentality to understand or a different way of viewing the world. In other words you are better for knowing another language because it makes you a bigger person.
