ignorance on the subject? ha... don't make me laugh
tell me then why you brought up this 6000 year shit? It's not backed up by any scripture. Obviously you're just taking some commonly held Christian thoughts and applying them to your argument.

learn how to read... i didn't say 6000 years, but as long as we're on the topic.... if you take the dates mentioned in the bible, the whole bible, then you get a figure that is close to 6000 years old, so if the bible is to be correct, then by basing it on it's own timeline, it would only be about 6000 years old.

God damn you two! I keep confusing all you damn atheist, my bad.
But yes the bible might go to 6000 years but no where does it say the earth is exactly 6000. I believe the Hebrew text says, "In one of many beginnings" and not "In the beginning."

what people dont understand is that evolution is based on evolving, obviously...no, we, as humans, did not come from algae, but in the ephereal sense, we did. we had an ancestor that had an ancestor that had an ancestor....*6 trillion ancestors later* that sprouted from algae. A common misconception that anti-evolutionists make is that we didnt come from monkeys, so how can evolution exist? yes, thats true, we didnt come from monkeys. but monkeys and humans share a common ancestor. monkeys are on one branch of the evolutionary tree, and we are on another one.

Regardless of what the "scientists" say about evolution being a fact, is a fallacy. The study of evolution has yet to be exausted, as well as other fields of science. In other words not everything has been proven to be "true" or "truth". So with that we all must assume that the scientific community is baseing their evolution THEORY on assumptions. So it looks like the spirtitual world and the scientific world are in the same boat.

Of course the Atheists cringes at this fact...

I'm not a christian, and I think the thought of this planet being only 6,000 years old is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

Not quite a fact, now is it? :lick:

Evolution is a scientific theory that has stood up to the test of time. Never have any tests been conducted that suggests it is incorrect.

What distinguishes a scientific theory from a non-scientific theory is that a scientific theory must be refutable in principle; a set of circumstances must potentially exist such that if observed it would logically prove the theory wrong.

It is not up to a theist to disprove science, it is up to an atheist to prove it true. Yes I jacked this quote and changed it.
Yes, I noticed how you changed it around. So cute.

Atheists are constantly proving science. The problem is that theists choose not to believe in reality. What are atheists supposed to do when theists deny a rock is a rock? Or 2+2=4?

Hahaha. Man I'm not bashing science, I believe it can be used to explain most of this worlds phenomenons. I like to study and read up on it as much as I can. I'm just saying that there is a lot of skepticism when it comes to explaining things that are extremely old, which is understandable, but it is constantly mistaken for provable fact.
