FOR THE PAST NUMEROUS YEARS I HAVE HEARD PEOPLE SAY(MOSTLY FROM INCREDULOUS WHITES, ESPECIALLY IN HERE), "FUK RACISM, LET'S ALL FUK TIL WE ALL gREY" AND FIgURE RACISM WILL END THAT WAY. YOUR INTENTIONS ARE gOOD BUT THAT PHILOSOPHY IS FLAWED, CAUSE THAT HAS HAPPENED AND IT MADE MORE PEOPLE IgNORANT, RACIST AND SOME WITH A LOST IDENTITY, SELF-ESTEEM, AND PRIDE.

WHAT I'M TALKIN' ABOUT IS THE RACIST MEXICAN SOCIETY AND WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN MEXICO AND HOW PEOPLE PERCEIVE OTHAS. FOR THOSE WHO AIN'T HIPPED, MEXICO IS COMPRISED PRIMARILY OF 3 RACES, SPANISH, INDEgINOUS, AND BLAK. YES, BLAK:

http://siccness.net/vb/showthread.php?t=184058

NOT TIL RECENTLY(1992 OR SO) THE BLAK RACE WAS OFFICIALLY RECOgNIZED BY THE MEXICAN FEDERAL gOVERNMENT. AND THIS IS THE SAME COUNTRY THAT HAD THE BIgKEST PORTS OF SLAVES IN LATIN AMERIKKKA AND AT ONE POINT HAD MORE BLAK FOLK THAN SPANIARDS AND NATIVES. EVEN THE XND PRESIDENT (VICENTE gUERRERO) WAS BLAK(AND NATIVE). A LOT OF THE MEXICAN CULTURE IS INFLUENCED BY IT'S BLAK PRESENCE. SLAVERY WAS LOOKED DOWN UPON AFTER IT WAS ABOLISHED(AND THIS IS DURIN' THE 1800'S WHEN IT WAS RAMPANT IN THE U.S).
SO WHAT HAPPENED? THE BLOODS MIXXED TO THE POINT WHERE NOBODY IDENTIFIED THEMSELVES AS BLAK OR HAVIN' N-E BLAK BLOOD. FOR THOSE THAT WERE BLAK, THEY MAINTAINED SILENCE. TIL THIS DAY NOBODY EVEN KNOWS THERE'S BLAK FOLK IN MEXICO OR IT'S INFLUENCE AND LEgACY. THAT'S A STRETCH OF OVER 500 YEARS.
AND NOW IT'S COME TO THE POINT WHERE WHITE IS RIgHT, AND N-E-THANg ELSE IS CLASSLESS AND BULLSHIT. PEOPLE JUST IDENTIFY WITH BEIN' MEXICAN(WHICH USUALLY MEANS HAVIN' ONLY SPANIARD AND AZTEC BLOOD). THOSE WHO OPPOSE THE "WHITE COLONIAL MENTALITY" STILL ONLY IDENTIFY WITH BEIN' INDIgINEOUS AND THE BLAK BLOOD IS FORgOTTEN AND EVEN TABOO TO ATTEMPT TO TALK ABOUT IT.
THE MULLATO'S DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THEY WERE BLAK OR IDENTIFIED THEMSELVES AS ONLY MEXICAN. THEY KNEW THEY WAS DIFFERENT AND SOME THOUgHT THEY HAD CUBAN IN THEM CAUSE THEY FIgURE THAT BLAK FOLK COME FROM CUBA.

SO HOW IN THE FUK IS FUCCIN' TIL WE ALL gREY gONNA RESOLVE THE RACIST MENTALITY WHEN IT IS PROVEN IN MEXICO THAT THAT AIN'T THE CASE?

I DONT THINK YOU CAN GENERALIzE AS JUST MEXICO DOIND THIS, IN ALL I THINK IT'S HOW ALL LATIN AMERICA IS. YOU WOULD HAVE TO ASK YOURSELF DO "LIGHT SKINED" LATINz WANT TO KEEP THEIR HERITAGE AND WANT THEIR KIDz, KIDz, KIDz (AND SO ON) TO DO THE SAME? I THINK THATz WHAT GOES ON IN ALOT OF PLACEz NOT JUST MEXICO. THE "LETz FUCK TILL WE ARE GRAY" IS BULLSHIT THERE IS ALWAYz GOING TO BE RACIST PEOPLE WANTING TO KEEP OTHER RACEz FROM JOINING THEIR FAMILY OR TO "FUCK UP THEIR BLOOD LINE". I DONT THINK RACISM WILL STOP, THERE WILL ALWAYz WILL BE THE NEXT MAN SWEATIN ABOUT SOME BULLSHIT. SIDE NOTE- NOT THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE AZTEC BLOOD, MOST IF NOT ALL OF THEM WHERE MURDERED BY SPAINISH SETTLERz. MORE THAT LIKELY MAYA.

Look, my brotha.

Take this into account. While the numbers in the distant past may have said that at one time blacks outnumbered indians and spaniards, something still happened to where today most mexicans do not look phenotypically black. Thereby, making it that much easier for them to live in denial. A feature here or there can be conjectured, but Mexico does not "look" as black as those other countries you mentioned (Venezuela, Dominican Rep, Puerto Rico).

Now, the concept of people denying their blackness is not a new one. It's a global concept inherent in colonialism and oppression. Pick any country that has people with dark and light skin, and see these concepts surface. Fingering Mexico is cool and all, seeing as how there are plenty of mexican siccness members to debate with, and you have mexican blood in you, but to be fair you must acknowledge that this denial occurs everywhere and is part of a much larger problem.

And, since you mentioned La Raza Cosmica, introduced by Jose Vasconcelos in 1925:

The idea of a Raza Cosmica or cosmic race, as said by Jose Vasconcelos, is the incorporation and integration of all the races, such as it is seen in the Americas(US, mexico, central and south america). Here we have a mixture of Afro, Euro, Indio(native), and Asian ethicities and backgrounds that can help to improve the Raza Cosmica. The Mendelian priciple states that by the introduction of diversity into the gene pool, the entire pool gets "hybrid vigor" or the condition of being stronger.
This shows that early Mexican scholars have sought to demystify the mestizaje that comprises mexicans and embrace all of their roots. The masses can live in denial because of the way they look and the way ALL racist societies socialize people, but there are scholars and educated people who seek to air out the bullshit.

Just as a little side comment:

I am a Sicilian. Sicily was not even a part of Italy until about 1910-1920. It was a main staging point for most expeditions within the Mediterranean, and at the time was the most important island in the ancient world.

Overtime, Sicily was controlled by the Arabs, Moors (blacks), Norman, Aragonese (Spanish), Vandals, Goths, Germans, Italians, Greek, Phonecians, Egpytians, and Asians.

I am a mutt of society - I have blood in me from all of the ancient societies and continents.

But today, all Sicilians just think of themselves as "Italian". The truth is, my family was never a part of Italy at all. When my brother called a Northern Italian (light hair, light skin) for dinner reservations, the Northern Italian picked up on his Sicilian dialect and hung up on him. Northern Italians look down on Sicilians for their dark skin and dark hair, and in order to gain any type of political power, Sicilians became Italians.

It bothers me today having a lot of Italian friends and Sicilian friends. My Sicilian friends don't embrace their roots. None of them identify with being black or asian or egyptian. They don't understand the Muslim influence on their culture. They get excited about the fact that Siclians invented the mafia, but they dont understand that fettucini and carbonera were never a part of their culture. They dont understand that Sicilians had their own flag and their own religion and their own language.

For years, many people did not know about these facts, and all Sicilians just thought of themselves as Italians.

I can see the similarities between Sicilians wanting to be European Italians and not facing their genetic heritage, and Mexicans wanting to be European Hispanics and not facing their genetic heritage.

So...I guess the best way to put it is this: My ancestors fucked and fucked and fucked (and during the time of slavery were raped) until we all turned grey.

But what you have to realize is that, you cannot separate the cultures. You cannot separate black and native and european, because when you do its like trying to give yourself multiple personalities. Be proud of your past, but realize this: You are not black. You are not native. You are not spanish. You are Mexican.

Green does not call himself "blue" and "yellow". He calls himself green. Because once blue and yellow mix together, they can never be unmixed and they will enver be pure blue again and they will never be pure yellow again. What they have to understand is that green is a whole new color, and they have to accept where they are at that point in life and not how they came to be.

Its fucked up that some Mexicans can't accept being black. But its a lot worst to try to be a bunch of different things instead of just a Mexican.

And in the same way, its happening to America. People will say that their Hispanic, Black, Italian, Indian, Croation, whatever. But when's the last time you heard someone say straight up that they were an "American"?

Does that make sense?

Most Purépecha indians (sometimes refered to as Tarasco indians) are from Michoacan. The Purépecha language is spoken by about 200,000 indigenous Mexicans. 75% of the Purépechas are bilingual, speaking both Spanish and Purépecha. 25% speak only Purépecha. The Purépecha language is distantly related to the Zuñi Indians' language from New Mexico and states in the US southwest. The Purépecha language is also related to the Quechua-Aymara language of some South American Indian people.
From New Mexico to South America. Good shit.
