CHICAGO (Sept. 28) - Prosecutors have charged three teenagers with first-degree murder in the beating death of a Chicago student who was walking home from school.

Family members believe the victim, 16-year-old Derrion Albert, was fatally beaten Thursday for refusing to join a gang. But some witnesses say he was
a bystander who was swept into a violent fight.

A vigil for Albert is planned outside Fenger High School on the city's South Side on Monday afternoon.

Police have been using a video purportedly taken by a person at the scene of the beating to help identify people. The video shows several people beating a stomping a person believed to be Albert.

Cook County state's attorney's office spokesman Andy Conklin says the teens were charged Monday as adults.

seen shit like this with my own eye's I have even been able to stop on many occasions. I cant stand when people beat an already unconcious person up. i think we need to get medieval on some of these mufuckas and place them in stocks and let people throw rotten food and shit at them spit on them, and everyday they get they ass beat with a bamboo rattan like they do in SE Asia...that would curtail some of this foolishness.

Nah GOOD thing there wasnt no guns and knives huh? Just some mentally challenged kids beating someone AFTER theyve obviously been beaten unconscious. I dont know about YOUR faggot ass generation, but when I was a kid, the knockout was the end....
