plus, this is not that great of a picture. its a 72 dpi picture thats like 200x200...

yeah that pic is just a lil web jpeg if you had the actual raw files it would be hella cleaner....but its not just A FILTER its a couple filters and techniques really and it never really applies exactly the same to every pic you have to fucc with it accordingly.....but the better the photography of course the better the final outcome.....

shemp didnt start that style either....theres a photgrapher/designer named Sacha Waldman and another one name Jim Fiscus who been doing this shit....google their names for more info and to see their work

heres a quicc one i did too....

yea theres about 5 photographers actually who do it. there are a few filters out there as well. as i said, shemp puts a lot of time and work into his art, dont get me wrong. applying the filter a few times or numerous filters with some added touch ups will acheive the look.

I thought it was the Lucis Art plugin....but I remember Evan saying in anotha thread that they use tone mapping too.

Also you can achieve the Sascha Waldman-Michael Blackwell-etc. affect with just photography if you shoot different exposure shots and merge them into an HDR photo....

" HDR" Children look it up, Its a pretty advanced technique, and yes there are filters out there that do achieve this effect, but since filters are programs and not actual "Artist" with eyes you will only get a mediocher outcome, the way that all of the high talent photographers (sacha waldman, dave hill, etc.) is truely alot of good photography (and lighting) at different exposure (using the HDR technique) and minimal "plugins" plugins are to compliment real artwork not to create it and thats why some are paid to do it and others just do for thier homeboys............my 2 cents............1

i did this to demonstrate for you....this isnt the best picture to show that type of look but you can get the point...

as long as you have decent contrast in your picture you can achieve a simular look. just mess around with different layers and effects.

Also take your pictures with a good camera and mess around with the lighting. I've found that you'll have better results if your lighting is better in the orginal picture...

lol....

I was talking about hdr images....and messing with them.

with ur camera on a tripod take a picture as it should look normally, then one at -2 stops and take the same picture at plus 2.... you can join them in ps.... file > automate > merge to hdr

and once u merge them.... fuck with the exposure and gama to create the right contrast....

there are also stand alone apps like photomax pro www.hdrsoft.com that create hdr images
