and start paying for production, quit self producing your albums and lettin your homie make all your shit. Even rappers who produce still need some variety!
Remember you get what you pay for!

Yes, PAY FOR PRODUCTION AND GRAFX!!! I cannot stress that enough because it's the GraFx that really catches the consumers attention and after that you better have some quality beats! MOst people listen to the beat first and the lyrics second. You could some really great work for low prices. NOtice i did not say CHEAP because it's true, you get what you paid for. Sactown Stand UP!

THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN SEEING LATELY :

"PLEASE DONT TAKE IT PERSONAL BUT ITS TIME TO UPGRADE AND BE PROFESSIONAL IF YOU WANT US TO TAKE YOU SERIOUS. THERE IS ALOT OF THIS WEAK BULLSHIT GOIN ON WITH HELLA ARTISTS...( ESPECAILLY IN SAC )
I agree. If the general mainstream public is going to take a rapper seriously, they need to have a slick cover, tight packaging and professional mastering. Me? I feel like as a real nigga i gotta listen to the content and skills and talent and potential. Me? I feel music is all about the audio content not the mastering and mixing levels or money down the drain graffix. Let the majors pay for that.

TO THE REAL ONES STRIVIN TO MAKE IT AND MAKE IT LOOK GOOD QUALITY , MUCH PROPS...

AND I DONT WANT TO HEAR " WE DONT HAVE A BIG BUDGET TO DO IT PROFESSIONAL " STOP RIGHT THERE BECAUSE I USE TO MAKE PROFESSIONAL ALBUMS THAT ARE PRESSED PROFESSIONAL, FLYERS , POSTERS , MAGAZINE ADS FOR A FEW RACKS!( OR LESS ) SAVE YOUR MONEY UP AND DO IT RIGHT.. WE ALWAYS STEP IT UP .. NOW WERE INVESTING ABOUT 10 RACKS FOR AN ALBUM AND ITS WORTH IT.. IT LOOKS GOOD , PEOPLE TAKE IT SERIOUS , IT GETS OUT THERE , FOLKS ARE WAITIN FOR IT TO DROP AND WE KEEP GRINDIN IT!
Seriously, you aint comin at us as a rapper artist. You comin at us like a studio man/exec producer. INVEST 10 RACKS IN A PROJECT WITH NO DISTRIBUTION DEALS, ETC.??? IT LOOKS GOOD? PEOPLE TAKE IT SERIOUS? Blood, I think you might have it twisted. In order for people to take it serious you gotta have distribution. Distribution. Distribution. Features. Word of mouth.
PERIOD.

Beware young rappers from Sac...
Everybody in the game is trying to get over on everybody else damn near.

CDUBB...
I got nothin against you mayne, but you givin bad info.
Real talk.
This bs aint helpin at all.
I take issue because you know what i'm sayin.

You really gotta have both, not one or the other. You could be the next Jay-z but if your sound quality (mix, Master etc. ) is low budget, aint no label gonna give you a "deal". Not sure how long or how deep you are in the biz, but the average local rapper will not need distribution. Especially when you're only pressing up 1000 copies like most people, and if you're cover and presentation aint tight, no real distro company will fuck with you. It don't even matter if your shit is tight, you usually gotta have plugs or a track record to get a real "distribution deal". Aint no distro company gonna pay for your cover to get done and all the mix, master and promo, just because your "content" is good. . . Plus features don't make a shit of a difference these days, unless you got T-pain or someone major. Every local dude got the same features on their albums. . Dubb aint givin bad info at all. He been in the biz and knows the ins and outs. Unless you're doin somethin he aint then I don't think anyone should be speakin on it. .
oh yeah, and 10 racks aint shit to put into an album, on any level.
Unless you're a hobby rapper, and there's plenty of those out here

i was just gunna say this..lol... to each is own.. i feel everyones points but you gotta have good looking/sounding quality shit.. people cant get into your music if the mix is bad ..you can be the tightest rapper /singer who ever lived but nobody will care if you dont care about your own shit enough to make it look/sound good. all im sayin is take yourself serious, invest in yourself ..
