For a minute I thought Woodie was making a revelation that HE was Puerto Rican. It wasn't originally a Latin thing but a Chicano thing. Now even down here alot of fools are Salvadorean or some non-Raza group all up in the mix. It's almost impossible to tell by looking more than half the time anyway.

I'm half Italian/Sicilian, a quarter Cherokee Indian, and a quarter Mexican. and I've never had a problem with any homeboys saying I don't belong. I served two years in Preston youth Correctional Facility (CYA) and 1 year in Nevada City at the fire camp and was never told that I couldn't kick it. Those on here that have met me know I look kind of Mexican but not much, so alot of people think i'm a whiteboy until they talk to me or see me with my boys.
I think one of the best things about being a Norteno is the fact that we are so accepting of others. When I was in high school at North Salinas High there were a couple of little disabled kids that for some reason liked to hang around the homeboys and that shit would make my day when i would see the homies accept them for the way they were. They weren't gangbanging they would just eat their lunch by our tables and talk to us and the fact that the homeboys wouldn't make fun of them or ignore them even behind their backs showed me that even though we don't live the best lifestyle our values are in the right place. I had a retarded sister so i have a real problem with people talking shit about them. they didn't have a choice when they were born.
So in a way white and black homeboys didn't have a choice either they didn't pick what race they wanted to be before they were born but if they want to make the choice to bang Norte that should be up to them
