Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through The Eyes of Madness.

I just recently started to like them. I used to not be able to stand Claudio's voice at all but now I like it, although it still does get on my nerves sometimes. I think I like the actual instrument music more than anything. "Welcome Home" off of Good Apollo, I'm Burning... is such a amazing fucking song.

I'd say they're more Yes than Rush haha. They actually fuck around with it since they get compared to them so much, hence the hidden track on In Keeping Secrets being called 2113.
Good Apollo's actually my least favorite out of their 3 albums. In Keeping's my fav with Second Stage right behind it.
I have a few more threads about them in this section if you wanna search for em, Cranky.
Oh, and the breakup finally got announced the other night. Josh and Mic are officially out. The guy who was filling in for Mic on the bass in the tour is staying on and they now have the drummer from Dillinger Escape Plan doing the drums. I cant wait to hear what that's going to sound like.
They're going into the studio in january.

Chris Pennie is going to be drumming in Co&Ca now? So is he leaving Dillinger Escape Plan because that would be kind of weird with him being a co-founder of the band and all. Chris is a great fucking drummer, I'd like him to stay with Dillinger Escape Plan though (I like them better sorry Buzz.)

They broke up while doing the shows with Coheed, Chiodos and 3. What I heard was that they had a huge fight backstage, went out and played the set, came back off stage and the drummer said they need to go on a hiatus for awhile. He's full time with Coheed now.

In August, two-time AP cover stars Coheed And Cambria were temporarily downsized when bassist Mic Todd and drummer Josh Eppard were unable to tour with the band for personal reasons. We have now received word that the split is official: Todd and Eppard are no longer members of Coheed.

"For me, it's kind of hard to say exactly why [they're out of the band]," frontman Claudio Sanchez tells AP. "There were moments where it felt like it could've been creative differences and, maybe just a dislike of touring [on their part]. I think that's really what's brought us to this moment. It started off this summer with Josh giving us a call and saying, 'I can't do this tour.' And, ya know, we couldn't really call it a tour if we didn't get that call. He would always say he couldn't do it. But we would talk about it and he'd be cool with it. But this time around, it didn't work out and he refused to come to Europe. We had MP [ex-Samiam] fill in because it seemed like the logical choice. As we started doing Europe, Mic said that he wanted to endure. But around the time that we hit Barcelona, he decided he could no longer do it as well. So, really, they left on their own and I honestly haven't spoken to them since that day in June. Actually, when we were done with Europe, we got them on the phone and talked and tried to figure something out, but they wanted to go in a different direction. [Guitarist] Travis [Stever] and I have been doing our thing and they haven't reached out to us.

"It's hard to lose them because they played such an important role in this band," Sanchez continues. "It's hard to go through a drastic change like that, but I don't look at it as a bad thing. I felt there were creative differences to some degree most of the time, especially with In Keeping Secrets and Good Apollo..., it felt like Josh and Mic weren't even at the studio--and honestly, they weren't. They'd come and play their parts and that was about it. Not to discredit them, but it's just going to allow for a freer and more interesting process."

Coheed fans, fear not: The band are in no danger of breaking up. Sanchez informs AP that he and Stever have already begun rehearsals for the band's new album, with a surprising addition behind the kit.

"Right now, we've just started rehearsing for the new album," he says. "Matt Williams [of pre-Coheed band Jumblehead] is on bass and we actually got Chris Pennie from Dillinger Escape Plan on drums. We're kind of toying with that lineup and it's hard to say if that will be the new foundation of Coheed And Cambria. We're just kind of feeling them out and they're feeling us out and it's hard to say what the final outcome will be. But I'm looking at this as a new beginning and not a downer. There were so many ideas I wanted to do with this band that I felt like I wasn't going to get full cooperation from everyone and just kind of kept them to myself. Now it feels like a new beginning and I actually kind of get goose bumps when I think about it."

The band's new lineup plan on heading into the studio in early 2007 with plans for a late-2007 release.

So what is the overall feel/content of Coheed's music?

Well all their albums are one story (I think...Buzz?) They have a progressive feel to their music. I like them more now but can only listen to them in doses lol.

Make sure you check out "Welcome Home" on the album you bought. I don't get sick of that song at all. One day I think I listened to it about 10 times on repeat.

Ya all of their albums are a part of a story that Claudio wrote. Good Apollo Vol. 1 is the 2nd to last piece, Vol.2 will be the last part of the story. Vol.1 actually goes outside the story and focuses on the writer of it, then goes back into during The Willing Wells.

Do a youtube for live videos of The Final Cut. Probably the best performed song Ive seen when they're having a good night. Travis plays with a talkbox for the first part of the solo then Claudio goes nuts. He always plays behind his head for awhile, when I saw them last December Travis' amp fucked up so he left the stage, then Claudio played for about 5 minutes with just a drumstick, slapping the fuck out of the pickups. Ive never heard anything sound like that. The album version's about 6 minutes I think, the live version goes anywhere from 10-20 minutes.

This is the best video i've never seen.

I tried watching it 3 times and flash player stops on me and won't buffer any more of the video. Shit is pissing me off. Is there a link to where I can download the video?

Edit: I finally buffered the whole video now it just plays 57sec and cuts to the end.
