you almost had half a point when you posted your conversation with shep...

battling is as integral to rap music and hip hop in general as any other aspect. however, it has to be carried out in a context. it's for this reason we have such thing as scribble jam, blaze battle, local clubs holding emcee battles, hell even netcee written battles.

doing it unprovoked, however, would just make Tech look like a dickhead.

I haven't heard the Chingy diss...but as long as he isn't 1) calling out Tech or 2) proclaiming he is the best rapper in the MO, then Tech has no reason to respond. If he or Nelly start talking about how nobody in the MO are touching then maybe Tech could respond, not with a personal "battle" track, but a track where he claims the throne and proves he belongs simply by making a dope ass song.

O.K. I would compare it to this............

It's kind of like a heavyweight fighter that is just not getting the recognition that he deserves. Then he has to watch two shitty (but well known) fighters have a press conference talking shit on eachother, knowing he could beat the shit out of either one. At some point that fighter has to pick a fight with someone, be it a verbal one inside the realm of music. I happen to know a lot of rappers that I listen to now, sparked my interest on a blast track, cause you wanna know where he was coming from, you wanna hear his other shit especially if he can assault someone verbally on a mic, especially a so called icon.

identity, I agree, but if chigy is calling out nelly on the mic and proclaming himself to be the best, its almost like Tech doesnt exist in thier minds, I say he puts himself in thier minds, and I agree that it shouldnt be as much a blast track as it should be a claiming of the throne

I wasnt really wanting to bring the whole mac dre thing into it, and that wasn't a well thought out comment from shep, but the thread was designed to get opinions and that was all.

It is very rare that in any genre that a person get an opportunity to show his skills to the world without first knocking someone out of the way,and the majority of the time they have to open they're mouth out of turn to do it. As far as the world is concerned, the only rappers in missouri are in st louis, and the reality is the coldest one of them all has been relatively laying dormant.... IN K.C.

INSECURITY WOULD BE THE ONLY THING THAT WOULD BRING A HEATED REPLY FROM EITHER ONE OF THEM FAGGOTS, IF THEY ARE SO COLD THEY WOULD SHOOT SOMETHING BACK IN LYRICAL WARFARE KIND OF WAY.
