^They made Civilization on consoles, FFXI was also an MMO on XBOX360.
I never played that final fantasy shit, I had no idea it was an MMO, thought it was just a simple Rpg , Civilization Revolution isn't the same Civil on PC. I play that shit every other day on Xbox Live. Aztecs all day.

Did some research on FFXI....

These type of games have so much potential to be the cornerstone of the Xbox 360 and LIVE community and at the same time the pricing structure sucks! Although MS will not charge users anything (i.e. Free XBOX Live Silver account), Square-Enix's PlayOnline service is expecting to charge $12.95 U.S. a month to play this game. So do the math (all terms U.S.), FFXI Game $59.99 add ISP charges for monthly high speed access (Earthlink) $49.95 @mo and finally add the MMORPG monthly cost of $12.95 @mo and you get the grand total of $814.79 for the year. Now assume that you will most likely have 3 games like this and the average cost per title per year translates to approximately: $415.19 @title. This assumed each title had its own $12.95 @mo cost to play above and beyond the ISP charges. As you can see, this will make these games quite unaffordable for the majority or people.

Fuck that shit give me a Star Wars MMO.

The problem with gaming is products are being rushed now. That honestly could be due to the amount of graphic detail they put into the environment and characters. So instead they would rather focus on the longevity rather than creating a new style of gaming like how they use to constantly back in the day.

Series like CoD, Madden, and anything else is popular just utilizes on the multiplayer aspect. As long as people are going to depend on that in gaming and if they keep putting a new game out every couple months people will buy it since a huge majority has already moved onto the new product.

Bethesda is about the only gaming company still putting out quality single player experiences in my eyes..The whole industry is going with this approach though, not only in gaming but in music and movies..Just put out a ton of products to a loyal fanbase and they will keep spending money even if it means not having enough rent because they bought 300 different online FPS's in a month.

Fuck is wrong with people....

That's why they do it. The whole industry is just that "an industry". Video games are the same shit. They make what sells. If it didn't sell they wouldn't make it. What does sell they are going to do it to death. Then once that don't sell they will move on too the next fad and do it to death. That's how it's always been and will always be. Cause if it ain't about dollars it don't make sense.

Thats exactly what I'm sayin bro..but there is plenty of video games that profit well and still are great..Then again, most of the time its a new game that begins a new series, then after its already developed a fanbase it goes to hell...

Being a video game designer must be the best job in the world right now...

I hate how there are "exclusive rights" from certain companies. I hate how The Show is the dopest baseball game ever and I can't play it on xbox360, same goes for Gran Turismo or Halo and Devil May Cry going toward PS.

It's been that way for a long time since the nintendo/sega days but still. It still pisses me off. Madden has a monopoly on football so the 2k series can't even come up with a game to compete with it so you're pretty much stuck playing an EA football game or some crap game without real licensed players on it.

Definitely hate that games don't give you enough bang for your buck though. The replay factor is through the floor now compared to games on NES or SNES which I still play to this day

I hate that the graphics have taken center stage at the expense of great features like four player split screen multiplayer. All I ever wanted was halo 1 online.

the thing i absolutely hate these days is the whole level formula. it seems like they take more time trying to make levels different than making them good. one level is all in a vehicle, the next is all on foot, the next is in the snow where you play half on foot half on a snow mobile etc.... i wish games would focus more on making the game consistent. or some games seem like one level was just the most worked on and put together level. and everyone chooses it as their favorite. same with maps etc...

I hate how games are way too short Bayonetta was a great game but short as shit I beat it in less then a week. or games that are way overhyped but when you play them they really suck Dantes Inferno was too overhyped they made it seem like it would be great but I didnt really care for it. Hell I cant even beat punch out and that game is over 20 something years old but at the same time its still fun but games now days arent even like that they are hard as hell and no fun at all to play.
