if you all lookin 2 read a good gang bangin book you should read the autobiography "Monster" its the tightest book i ever read, its bout this crazy ass crip in LA. It's one of the few books i actually bothered to finish reading, its up there with green eggs and ham! lol j/p but yeah, its a tight ass book, if ya havent read it already i suggest you pick up a copy

Whoever made this thread, wasn't talking about a movie on the scale of darkroom's movies, they are talking about a big movie like american me was. The difference between a movie like that and a woodie cd is, people are gonna see movies like that, that would never listen to rap music. The movie critics out there would never listen to a woodie cd. The point is, the scale of the audience for a movie like that is considerably higher than a cd sale number. (Woodies highest selling cd was just over 10k units I believe maybe a lil higher) You see the point now? Whether it's entertainment or not, it's reaching a completely different audience. When WE watch a movie like menace II society, we think it's cool cause it's everyday shit to us. When older people in suburban america see it, they see dumb african americans killing each other and just about nothing else. When younger suburban america sees it, they think it's cool cause their favorite rapper probably tried to copy their life after O-dog or Scarface or some shit. So now what you have, is a 3 times removed movie gangster copycat. If you don't think so, look how many rappers call themselves Tony Montana. The end result is suburban american kids emulating what they see on a movie, in this case a Norteno based movie, trying to be something they have no idea what the real cause is, and probably will never have met a real norteno in their life.
