13 is used for La Eme, the Mexican Mafia. M is the 13th letter. This is for mexican gangs in southern california, in the north they have different gangs which use 14 for the letter N. The South and North don't get along in prison. I don't know exactly how MS is connected to the 13 or their involvement with the Mexican Mafia.

COUSE THEY STARTED OUT HERE IN L.A. No shit but thats SOUTHERN CALI, im talking about my area where I live, aint no large scale system like that going on around here. But shit is starting to come up cuz of the shootings, what im saying is this is how they try to start "set up shop" by taking over sections of a city.... they are NOT simply just standing guard there patrolling a hood cuz they dont got a hood yet, get it? Im saying this is how they try to start up and make nothing out of something and grow.
i was watching a show on univision about ms the other day. they were interviewing the guy who started ms, he's out in el salvador livin a laidback life not even banging anymore. Turns out that in the 80's when the people fleed the civil war in el salvador, a lot of them ended up in la. being new to the country and salvadorian, all the local la gangs would fuck with them and rob them, so all the truchos got together to prtect each other and started MSS (Mara Salvatrucha Stoners). Dude said they used to get high all the time and listen to old rock music. After a while they dropped an S and just stuck with mara salvatrucha. MS is gettin hella attention because they are deep as fuck especially in the east coast. They are getting international too.
