i hate it when people think theyre entitled to something like "kanye west" (regardless if you agree or disagree with him). as far as support...... a lot of artists dont go to events, shows, etc, unless it's about them. even the group of artists i work with have the same mentality. its pathetic. that mentality holds a lot of artists back. sometimes as people we need to step out our own box and see the bigger picture and then we can see how insignificant all of us really are as individuals and realize how being part of the bigger picture makes us significant as individuals.
I agree. Gotta stay humble

I feel the same way homie, I put in alot of work like you and have worked with just about anybody in the Bay who is a factor. I reached out to them a couple of times the past 2 years, even had some people high up vouch for me and still a no go. They gave me a list of things that would qualify me 2 years ago and I meet everything on the list but still got no love lol. Im not mad I just keep pushin, but it makes me think its just about the $ and they really have no idea who are the people that are working with the artist of "Today" in the Bay.

I feel you Indo. I've always felt everything has always been about the money and politics. Just keep on making noise and they will reach out to you.

my question is...who are the producers that have been invited to this event?

and for them not to invite T.C. or DJ Fresh ...that's just some B U L L S H I T ...those two are some of the most respected producers in the bay area period...

what they need to do is look at their catalog and take it from there..

I thought it was a great event, got alot of good knowledge from the panels, hell the networking it allowed us all to do was worth the $70 to me

Indecent, it's a music business seminar and a networking event.
Whoever went paid 70 or 80 or 130 or whatever for their ticket.

The people who were invited to speak on the panels
are very established and have a great track record

it did also include artists, engineers, execs, agents, lawyers.

Not many "just straight up producers" spoke...

But many of these people have some serious industry weight

That said I don't think you would have fit in to any of the panels.
(no offense I know you have a huge list of credits and a big network)

You yourself may have benefited just a little bit from the networking...
but since you're already networked up with the bay, don't know what you
would have taken away from the conference. I think your business end is
pretty solid and organized if i'm not mistaken? So it may not have been for you.

What's cool is that if you paid 130...
that extra 50 bucks gives you
10 minutes with one of 4 A&R's

I did that, spoke to G-Unit Records A&R who really loved my
tracks and sent some of them over to yayo, 50, and banks.

Also sent another track to Hot Rod for a special project.
Shit I'll be goin nuts if I land a placement in the next couple days.

If you were up on what the conference was
about you might have opted to buy a ticket.

New/better ways to market to our target audience, new ways to look at various situations from a legal standpoint, like I said I thought it was a good event as a whole and they tried to get good informative people on the panels but with anything like this there's always room for improvement and growth, hopefully you and DJ Fresh both will be included in the future!

Seems like the BAPC was probably benificial to new up and coming producers who have no knowledge of the business and new producers who have NO connections to network with the participants of this event. It's pretty obvious that this event was put together by a small circle of individuals as Indecent put it who work together which is not a bad idea. It's all politics thou! Unfortunately, politics don't always favor those who are better qualified for the positions available!

We all gotta keep pushin and building relationships cause at the end of the day; success in this biz is based on who you know and a lil luck!
