LOL, those are little kids, dog. Their ain't no reason to take them seriously. Their just str8 up little weenies. Some big ass nerds. Their far from the reason why the WestCoast is lacking in the rap game right now. They ain't shit, no factor what so ever. The bottomline is that the South is running the rap game right now on a mainstream level and everyone keeps jumping the bandwagon, even fools from the WestCoast, see the creation of Hyphy. Until the WestCoast innovates (Hyphy ain't innovation IMO, the sound is too similiar to the South) a bit or goes back to that FUNK, the South is going to continue to run the game or atleast everything will seem southern influenced. If it was up to me, I would love for the WestCoast to go back to that G-Funk because that was the sound and vibe that made the West what it was back in the 90's. I know times change, but that was OUR sound and I think we should have continued on that path because it gave us our own indentity. The East had their own sound, and we had ours, it gave us separation and choices as a customer. Now everything sounds the same, all club, Southern influenced SHIT, nothing that will be considered classic or oldies 20years from now, it's all temporary bullshit.
I'm referring to the overall sound and vibe. The sounds are practically the same. They both use the same Trancy synth sounds and other synthesized FX sounds, blips,zaps that shouldn't have a place in HipHop, IMHO. Those sounds are better suited for Trance, House, and all that other electronica rave genre stuff IMO. As far as the TR-808 goes, I have no problem what so ever with it because that's just perscussion, though the sudden rise of using pitched kicks inplace of basslines is annoying IMHO. I would rather hear some grimey shit to tell you the truth, thumpier kicks, poppin snares/claps, real Electric bass basslines, moog style synth bass, piano/chords, guitar, strings, softer synth leads (rather than trance leads) and all that good shit that creates REAL music. That funk/jazz influenced shit, not Trance/Techno influenced. LOL, with a name like "Hyphy" I just can't take it seriously.
Actually Eastcoast is REALLY runnin the rap game almost literally, Russle Simmons, Roc-a-fella, Bad Boy, Ruff Ryda, crazy shit son the most active katz in the game is in the east coast. i mean yeah the south is all over T.V and the radio BUT as far as lyrical content goes the illest southern katz in the game are: Bun B, Chamillionaire, T.I, and Ludacris, ya'll may not agree but. Meh. the proof is in the Lyrics. but as not to divert from my prior statements, the east coast is REALLY on top of the game, in order for the west to be even holdin a torch to that we need to do like snoop, and get our hands in EVERYTHING HIP-HOP he's a real westcoast hip-hop mogul, he may not be the ILLEST but he is DEFINATLEY a success. repost with opinions this is suttin that needs to be discussed amongst those of us in the west.

The East aint running shit. Ruff Ryders aint put out a hit record in I don't know how long. Bad Boy aint shit either. Puff is just living off of unreleased Biggie versus & rereleased Biggie material. Your list for illest Southeren Lyracist is nothing compared 2 the illest lyracist in the West......... not even close. I highly dissagree with most things u said in ur post homie.
Diddy was puttin' out hit records long after Biggie passed away. Mase was under Diddy, and Mase=HIT RECORDS! I Need A Girl pt. 2 was a hit record, Biggie wasn't on that song. I think only recently, Diddy didn't go platinum. Not saying he's the ILLEST, but he makes hit records consistently, with or without a Biggie verse on it.

P-Diddy DOESN'T have his own clothing label, record label, cologne, millions of dollars, and he HASN'T produce like 2-3 bands under a multi million dollar television contract? and russel simmons DIDN'T own damn near every NOTEWORTHY record label in hip-hop and he DIDN'T sign it over to Jay-Z who ALSO has his own record label, urban clothing label, and MAAAAADD Artists under his label with some of the hottest emcees on it ESPECIALLY KANYE WEST? and Swiss Beats Isn't Rollin wit double R bringin in the cake wit all these beats he's droppin for these new tracks poppin up, and DMX did his three or four movies that sold heavy and a T.V series that damn the same while NOT signed to Ruff Rydaz? i just wanna know where the eastcoast aint runnin the game? i mean shit dont get me wrong man im FROM the west Southeast daygo offa encanto and 62nd street homie im West Rooted ya digg im in tha hood. BUT bein a nigga from tha streets i feel i gotta keep it real and the real is EASTCOAST GOT IT. if tha west would put less focus in Gangbangin and more in Lyrical content AS WELL as the business side of hip-hop like Snoop does we could have the game LOCKED witout breakin a sweat.
