This isnt exactly the holy grail of info

There are a lot of syndicated shows, Xavier and supersnake are just 2 of hundreds on radio stations nationwide.

this was posted on Raptalk and thought it was interesting.

The truth about Wild 94.9 and 106 KMEL.

1. "Xavier The X-man" is not really in the Wild 94.9 studio. He actually lives in San Diego. Why do you think the phone's always busy when you call? It's a recorded show from the day before or the day of. Most calls are either fake, recorded from another area, or created by an intern who records your voice at 949, and then chops his and your voices together.
Here are two other stations that do the same thing with Xavier The X-man. www.magic925.com , www.koceanradio.com.
Wild 94.9 answers this allegation by saying that he does the show from San Diego, but its not true! Your telling me he's on his San Diego radio station talking about the bay area only? This show is all fake and you listeners are being lied to.

2. "Super Snake" All the same things that happen with "Xavier The X-man" happen with Super Snake. This one is a little harder for KMEL to pull off because they have to give away prizes everyday. An intern will record a callers voice, and then chop up snakes voice to make it sound real. This happens everyday! Super Snake is also on www.kzzp.com. There are other instances, but the main point is that Snake is never in the studio . Just more lies for you to hear.

3. "CON" tests... No caller 20, no caller 94, and no caller 106.. Do you ever think to yourself, why do girl's always win on 94.9? I'll tell you how to win a contest with these stations. Just sound really crazy on the phone and hey your a winner!!! Caller 20 could have really been caller 12. Do you think the really good prizes go to you the listeners? HAHAHA!! Most of the good prizes, and I don't say his happens all the time, but maybe more then half of them go to the staff. Yes sponsors, that means you get taken also. Air checks you get of winners are a lot of the time faked by sales staff and then given to you. Win a contest to meet Gwen Stefani? I'm sorry an old Wild 94.9 intern won that. Go to http://www.myspace.com/4500689 and see the pictures for yourself. This contest rip off happens everyday!! But it doesn't mean you'll never win! It just means your chances get a little lower.

4. When Wild 94.9 ratings go down why do they become we are all about the people, we want to help people in the bay area. But when ratings are high they don't feel they have to do that? It is because when they are hurting and when they need something from you, this is a way to get you to listen. They don't really care. They think you are sheep.

I can go on and on with more things about these fake radio station's and I will. Just know everything is the truth and I showed you it. All these things I said will get back to Wild 94.9, KMEL and Clear Channel. They'll say its all Lie's. They'll try to fly in The X-Men and Super Snake to give you a song and dance on how they are really in studio and come see them. They'll start having more guy winners on-air, and they'll have pictures taken down. These things have been going on for years. If you want to stand up and show them your not sheep STOP listening. Start playing CD's and start turning on your iPODs. Sponsors, stop wasting your money on stations that rip you off. The biggest thing to fight back is to say that your not going to take this is when someone asks you what stations you listen to. Say every other station except Wild 94.9 and KMEL. Take this email and get it out ot people. Tell them everything about how these stations do them and you wrong. Then you'll win the fight over them.

Supersnake broadcasts from Pheonix. Notice he's always talking about the Suns. I think he actually lives in pheonix and is never here in the Bay. Have yall noticed that on Sunday we get Big Tigga's Show? Why the fuck do I want to hear that annoying idiot play more of the same trash on his top 20 countdown. I hate radio. Both stations are trash now. I remember when Dj's would mix on the air live with actual 1200's and do tricks not Cd turntables and press a repete button so it sounds hella fake and programmed. When KMEL was the "Peoples station" they actually played more different shit than they do now becuase clear channel didnt get ahold of them.

ask any intern.. most shows are pre-recorded. this actually happens more often in so-cal stations. the bay area has too long of a history of mix dj's to be tryin to pull too much of it off.

but i do think some of rick lee's mixes are pre-recorded.

interesting.. but whatever, i still listen. kmel still plays good bay ishh once if you can catch it on at the right time. and they play good new non-bay songs too. it does get annoying that the same song gets repeated like 5 times in one hour but i'm still always listening whether it's in the car or on the radio.. i have both my mp3s and the radio playing on at the same time so i can catch new stuff on the radio.

oh and about the contests..i've never entered those anyways and at least they come up with bombb ass concerts.

hmmm i just wondered .. what about the 7top requested songs blahblah. i guess theres not thaaat many votes.. hah

what scotty fox is sayin is pretty true (except for the angry "who cares" part, but anyways). i dont think most people care about the authenticity of what they're listening to or where it came from as long as its quality. scotty fox and rick lee are some of the most talented mix dj's in the bay (if not the nation).

but i do think artists and listeners care about how input is treated. i.e. whether label pay-for-play matter more than listenership feedback and a diverse range of music.

at the stations around here in so-cal (same company as KMEL and KYLD), the top 7/4/10 or whatever is pretty muched contrived of a few call-ins (a lot less then what they say) but mostly what music programmers insist we listen to. remember, "most requested" doesn't say by who.

compared to a lot of stations outside of the bay area, kmel/kyld look like trendsetters because they do insert local artists and play music that no one else plays. kmel has a pretty diverse range of hip-hop.

but kmel, kyld, and clear channel need to remember that they don't and labels don't own the airwaves. local interests and listeners do. we paid for that shit w/ taxes n shit. i just wonder how much business weighs into programming.
