LMFAO @ EUROPEAN AMERICAN...that shit is just goofy as fuck.

This reminds me of a conversation I had with my boy not long ago, who told me I'm an "American-Italian" because I'm from America, but my roots are Italian. I almost had to slap him upside his stupid ass head, and tell him, "NO, descriptive always comes first, America is just a big melting pot where your culture is stripped from you and pretty soon you're AMERICAN". Fuck that shit, I ain't lettin it ride. If anybody can, trace your family tree and find out the real deal, and instill that culture into your children. I'm a 3rd Generation "american", family came here in the early 20th century. If you settle for the word "american" and accept the fact that your culture is not as safe as it should be, you're screwed.

You shouldn't hate "African-American" if those are your roots. The only reason it's not divided by country is because not everybody knows which country in Africa they came from. But, of course, if you're from Jamaica or Haiti or somewhere other than Africa, you're not an African American...but what's wrong with the term? Is it too generalized?
