Totally disagree with everything stated here.
I don't see how you can disagree with everything stated. Maybe you didn't find it interesting, but the acting was great by any standard (shitty movie year or not.) Same goes for the script and direction.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if this picks up Oscars. This would be a result of how terrible 2010 has been for american film making.
2010 has had a lot of duds, sure. But then we got Inception, which, in my opinion, compensated for a crappy summer. And Inception wasn't just good due to it being amid a myriad of bad films. It's good by all standards, if you ask me. I'd say The Social Network is also good regardless of the quality of other movies from the same year, though I still like Inception more.
Do you honestly think this will go down as a great movie? Like several years from now you'll think to yourself, "wow, Social Network was such an awesome movie!" Nah, it's only considered good right now because of how crappy the current state of hollywood is.
Yes. I think this will go down as a great movie in the same way that, say, The Graduate, has.
It's forgettable, in fact, I already forgot most of it. I'm sure this will be the case for everyone else who's seen it too.
I saw a special screening almost a month prior to its official release, and I haven't forgotten it.
Out of curiousity, what did you feel the movie was missing? What would have made it a more enjoyable or interesting experience for you?
