^^^ i understand but talent is talent too, sometimes all it takes is word of mouth, on rare occasions tho
an artist with talent that has no money needs to sell themselves to people with it. whether that is a label or a private party. i have seen many artists, bay area in particular, that think they are so good they pass up $10k-20K budgets. music is not going to make anyone rich overnight, but if talented, you can lay a foundation to possibly reap some dividends down the road. artists think they can do it all themselves and they cant. i mean you can sell a few thousand units if you are on your hustle but after overhead costs, you still arent making much. but let them tell it.

word of mouth does no good if the artist cant afford to keep his product on the shelf let alone get it there.

Cage isn't slept on.. he has his own fanbase. You either like him or you don't.

I like his album covers more than I like his albums.
he do got his own little fanbase tho. i still got love for him. but Depart from Me kinda let me down. I'll just stick to his old cd's.
If he switches producers for his next album and slides away from that rock shit. i'll still support him.

Well isn't the rock shit what makes him hot?

I'm more Ill Bill, JMT, Snowgoons... Cage dissapoints me every album. He's got some great tracks but IMO no solid albums.
