If you go by Plato's logic of the form of good, you can use it as an explanation to why you love God. For man, In our minds, hearts, and souls(if you believe in a soul) we see God as absolute, Truth, Peace, Love, and GOODNESS. What's the good, more than the form of good? Nothing right? What's the form of good, when it's complete good, therefore it's perfectly good, and our eyes, it's God. To Love what is good, is to be near what is good, and to be near what is good, you must try to conform to the form of goodness, a characteristic of the form of good.
Plato Believed in the Visible World, and the Intelligent world, an example of the visible world, is the things in life which are visible to us, and have the characteristics that align ourselves with ourselves, and animals characters with animals. The Intelligent world which he describes is a place where the sort of invisible dwells, not necessarily God. I believe this logic of the Intelligent world can be applied to Intelligent Design, which in turn can be applied to God.
No for the sake, of not digressing, to Love what is good, is to Love God. We worship, and Love God, to be closer to this FORM OF GOOD. What's the best thing that we get out of life, the Greater good right? So for us theists, the best way to get close to this greater good, is to be close to God, which we believe is the absolute form of God. He has the characteristics of goodness, just like how the cow has the characteristics of cowness which in turn defines what a cow is.
There Fore, By allowing ourselves to believe and love in this form of Good, which we believe is God, we obtain some sort of enlightenment. You can say, it's to make us happier, I'd say He's more of our complEment, not complIment, but with an E. To complete us, as human beings, as his creations. By doing so, we become closer to Good itself, no longer the form of good, but good itself, and eventually, we become or feel like that form of good in return give us the Love, making us feel good and completely good.
I just needed to get that out. Hope it makes sense haha.
