I like both ideas, cause like KP was saying they set ALL this up to decide what to do after NEXT year, after we see all these players mesh and see what they do together like oden/aldridge/roy/rudy ETC... but also I like moving to be contenders now, WHY WAIT, why not make moves now to win now, while we are young

^^^Oden is 100% and has been back on the court for months now. His knee is stronger than before and he has gained about 30lbs while maintaining the same body fat %. He is going to be a monster.

NEW YORK – The Portland Trail Blazers have intensified discussions with the New Jersey Nets about moving up into the 10th pick of the NBA draft with intentions of taking Texas point guard D.J. Augustin, league sources told Yahoo! Sports on Wednesday.

The Blazers would send the 13th and 33rd picks in Thursday’s draft, along with guard Jarrett Jack, to the Nets. New Jersey also would send guard Trenton Hassell to the Blazers.

Portland GM Kevin Pritchard had been counting on beating out Indiana for Augustin, but the Pacers likely no longer have that great a need for Augustin after agreeing in principle to trade Jermaine O’Neal to Toronto for point guard T.J. Ford, center Rasho Nesterovic and the No. 17 pick.

Nevertheless, one Western Conference executive warned that he believed Charlotte could make Augustin, the 5-foot-10 point guard, a surprise choice at No. 9.

Portland has had discussions with several teams about moving up in the draft, but a deal with the Nets appears to the strongest possibility now.

Jason Quick said:
In the past week, Pritchard has turned down a deal with an Eastern Conference team that offered a starting point guard for Blazers forward Travis Outlaw.
Looks like we wont be getting Devin Harris. Guess we'll have to settle for whatever KP has cooked up.

i dont think theyre gonna win the west but barring injury, they should make the playoffs. there isnt a dominant team or teams in the west any more. none of them are juggernauts like the spurs, lakers, suns etc.. of old. there isnt a clear cut team out there and some are on the decline like the spurs, suns, mavs. it will be nice to see some new blood doin things out there. somebody has got to be able to put up a better fight against the east than l.a., that was horrible. (i had to diss the lakers, sorry)

According to 99.5 The Game, James Jones has opted out and is no longer a Blazer. More minutes for whoever KP doesn't trade today.
yeah heard that too, but he also talked to Jason Quick and said that he wouldn't be opposed to coming back to portland. he said that he wants to see how the draft plays out and see what different teams around the league are doing. He wants to "see what his value around the league is" im thinking that he is just looking for a long term contract, so we will see what happens today
