I said it before the season started, and I'll say it again.

PNX vs DET in the 2008 NBA Finals.

Regardless of what ya'll BOS hopefulls think, Allen, Pierce, and Garnett are not enough to knock out the Pistons. Flip Saunders understands the mistakes he made against CLE last year, and you can bet those mistakes will not be made again. Steven A. Smith agrees DET is the team to beat in the East, and I dont believe BOS or CLE has what it takes to get past Detroit's 3 all star caliber starters and bench that has the potential to deliver 30+ points a game.

However, to be fair I will give ya'll my team who may 'upset' DET in the Eastern Conference Finals: Orlando Magic.

And assuming nothing major happens to PNX, I think their main key to getting past LA is keeping Kobe around or under 30 ppg during the playoffs.

Once again to be fair, my team that may upset in the West Conf Finals: HOU

Everybody discuss/make your case/voice your thoughs/ on the subject. Keep in mind the more broad perspective of the Finals. Getting optimistic about your teams 8 game winning streak is for other threads.

A month ago, I might have said Detroit vs. Phoenix...

Right now, I'll say Detroit vs. Los Angeles, when, at the start of the season, I would have picked them...maybe 6th or so, in the West.

I also would have picked Chicago 1st or 2nd in the East, too. :ermm:

I got the Spurs going against the Pistons...

Hopefully the Pistons can get some revenge from 05..

The Spurs and Pistons are the only teams in there conferences, as a unit, that have a ton of playoff experience and I think that'll help them.

The Suns have to kinda figure themselves out again, I think, which could hurt them, since there game will change.

Another thing that I think will help the Pistons come playoff time is the fact that there bench, which was their weakness last year, is now one of there main strengths. They have a lot of youth and fresh legs coming off the bench. Plus the starters won't be as worn in the playoffs since the bench has been taking a lot of minutes in the regular season. The pistons rotational bench features two rookies (Stuckey, Afflalo), one player who might as well be a rookie (Amir Johnson), and Jason Maxiell, who plays like Ben Wallace did before he became an all-star. Plus in the playoffs, they'll have a fresh Lindsey Hunter, who'll be able to help on Defense. Plus they have a better starting five than last year since McDyess is of more use to this team than Webber was. He's not the passer, but he's a better shooter and rebounder.

I think Boston is the only team in the East that can beat them, though. Especially since Chicago got rid of Wallace, even though it was a good trade for Chicago, the Pistons would take it easy on Ben... Maybe that opens it up for the Cavs again, but it's unlikely we'll play the Cavs in the playoffs since they are likely a four seed, and we are a two.

Its funny though, as a team, Boston and Detroit play into each others strengths. They both sorta like those low scoring defensive oriented games. Same with Detroit and San Antonio.. So if you get Detroit, San Antonio, and Boston as three of the final four teams.. Wow. People are really going to be bitching.

want i want is Lakers vs Celtics for obvious reasons

however like i said before the season started and i'm sticking to it and thats the Suns vs Pistons. i feel the celtics arent really good enough yet to make it to the finals, it's there 1st year all playing together and there not where there suppose to be yet. like i said as long as my celts make it out of the 1st round i'm happy cause that means they reached my expectations
