Giants placed OF Andres Torres on the 15-day disabled list with a lower right leg contusion.
So, it's not Carlos Beltran (wrist) going on the DL as had been speculated when reports of Brandon Belt's call-up surfaced. Torres was injured when he fouled a ball off his shin in Friday's game. Cody Ross and Aaron Rowand should get most of the time in center field while Torres is out.

According to Ellen Lazanne, a Grizzlies official, Zito twisted his leg while coming off the mound to field his position. He was helped off the field by trainers with an apparent leg injury. It’s possible Zito reinjured his sprained right foot, which has sent him to the disabled list twice this season.
