Pitching staff is still one of the best in the game. We just need average hitting, but our hitting is so below average it's pathetic.

btw have you guys seen what former Giants' prospect Jesus Guzman is doing in SD?? Hitting .350 in 130 abs. Dude showed he could hit, but as usual never got the chance to prove it here.

You guys gotta remember.. they went from Cold SF to really hot and humid Florida.. even Ross said himself, it's gonna be nasty weather in there.. but it's the last season before the Marlins move to a new ball park. Cainer looked exhausted in between pitches.

# The Associated Press (via ESPN Deportes) reports that former Giants prospect Angel Villalona is suing the team for $5MM, citing unlawful termination of his contract. Villalona, once ranked as the 33rd best prospect in the game by Baseball America, has not played since 2009 after being charged with murder in the Dominican Republic.

Giants placed OF Andres Torres on the 15-day disabled list with a lower right leg contusion.
So, it's not Carlos Beltran (wrist) going on the DL as had been speculated when reports of Brandon Belt's call-up surfaced. Torres was injured when he fouled a ball off his shin in Friday's game. Cody Ross and Aaron Rowand should get most of the time in center field while Torres is out.

Barry Zito sustained what is being described as a significant injury tonight at Triple-A Fresno. According to Ellen Lazanne, a Grizzlies official, Zito twisted his leg while coming off the mound to field his position. He was helped off the field by trainers with an apparent leg injury. It’s possible Zito reinjured his sprained right foot, which has sent him to the disabled list twice this season.
