he's been called lazy too
that and his glove is pretty suspect. Plus he's got 91 K's compared to 78 hits this year. And whats that .240 avg (.258 career avg) going to look like at AT&T? He's also having a career year because his coming up on free agency. But his career avg. is going down by the year, .300, .273, .241, .237, is he going to be worth 10-15 million a year?

He's also not his brother, Justin is by far the better Upton of the two. There's a reason the Rays are looking to trade him. They gave Longoria money, so there willing to pay for talent if the price is right.

If the Giants are looking for .240 hitting center fielder's, I'd rather have Colby Rasmus.

The Giants "do not want to part with any decent prospects for a hitter," perhaps taking them out of the Beltran mix.

The price for Beltran is dropping by the day. The Mets want more then what anyone is going to give up. There soon going to realize what the rest of the league already knows, he's 34 and on his last leg. And the team that gets him has to pay 9 million....

The mets will get one top 10 prospect if there lucky.......

FUCK YOU
Report: Mets willing to cover Carlos Beltran’s remaining salary in potential trade

From Adam Rubin of ESPN New York comes word that the Mets are willing to cover the roughly $6 million left on Carlos Beltran‘s contract to facilitate a potential trade.

“From what I gather, they are asking a lot for him because they are willing to pick up all of his salary,” the source told ESPNNewYork.com.

Jon Heyman of SI.com reported similar information earlier today, writing that the Mets “are willing to eat all or most” of Beltran’s remaining salary if they can get a top prospect in return.

The prospects are the major consideration, of course, but this is also an indication that Mets are attempting to expand the field of potential suitors to as many teams as possible. Beltran may not approve a trade to the Pirates or Indians, for instance, but the fact that they are involved in the talks could raise the stakes for teams like the Giants and Red Sox.

According to Heyman, Beltran would approve deals to the Giants, Tigers, Rangers, Red Sox, Phillies and Yankees among clubs that have expressed interest.
