pineda is a straight beast

definitely need to hold on to pineda and felix as long as possible even if it means cutting ichiro to make room
Pineda won AL Rookie of the Month for April.

He is the real deal, but he really needs to develop his changeup....MLB hitters will figure you out if you just throw 95 MPH all day long as a starter.

ichiro = 1/5th of the budget

is a lead off single that almost always leads to no runs really worth all that money? we need someone who will hit in runs
fuck it though people will get their little ichiro bobblehead hitcounter and be satisfied with losing. might as well be a loss counter not a hit counter

Maybe if Ichi were willing to be a bit more flexible, it wouldn't sting so bad.

We have ALWAYS heard that Ichi "could" hit 40 HR's "if he wanted to". Well, stick his ass in the clean-up spot and lets see those words come true. If you dont want to be seen as selfish, then show you are accepting of different roles to help BETTER the team. I think 20 Mil a year is worth that, right?

soooo youre tellin me 570 RBI's aint worth it? or how about a .375 on base percentage or a career average of .331 (as of today)? youre nuts.. 1/5 of the budget for 1/5 of the work.. lets not forget the gold gloves... offensively.. and defensively.. he is 1/5 of the reason why were only 3 or so games back from 1st place in our division. hes gettin paid for what he does.... period....

aaaannnd... 40hrs a year? whered you hear that? i would be happy if he hit 20 or 15 for that matter.. get on base with yo fast asian ass... get them RBI's like your paid too do.. he aint no prime griffey or buhner as far as a slugger goes... get real mayne!

50 RBI's a year and less than 9 homeruns every year on average IS NOT WORTH IT. by comparison alex rodgriguez gets over 100 RBIs per year and over 34 home runs on average.

dude gets on base a lot but scores far less than half of those times, so thats worthless. thats not ichiros fault, but i dont know why its not obvious to everybody that getting on base and not scoring doesnt help anything at all

whatever tho, people will continue to hang off ichiros nutsack, imo hes getting paid to stretch before every game and pump out merchandise and get a single every game that leads to nowhere. not 20million dollars of value to me

and our values are off

he gets 18 million of our 84 million dollar budget in 2011, so thats actually a little more than 1/5th

and ichiro would never hit more than 40 homeruns in one year, thats impossible even with roids. this isnt the barry bonds era anymore, last years two home run leaders barely cracked 40, everybody else was under 40.

also if i remember theyve already experimented trying to have ichiro bat cleanup, he failed miserably

and while im posting and shit, talking to myself, i want to point out that does anybody else feel hella stupid when ppl start chanting I-CHI-RO over and over at an M's game

makes me feel like a doofus. akin to chanting U-S-A during a bush speech

I've always hated how m's tried to replace jr, buhner, edgar, etc with ichiro. Im talking merely on a marketing/advertising standpoint. In my eyes nothing can replicate the feeling the king dome an the city used to be back than. Fuckin ichiro?? Get the fuck outta here

fact is with ichiro on the mariners the past ten years we've gone 807wins 813 losses. that includes our record year, and it still ends up less than .500. interesting stat the mariners have had the most golden gloves out of any baseball team in the past 20 years.

a less than .500 team with a gold glover, thats nothing to be proud about. you play to win and to gain championships, bottom line. even the die hards are tired of this shit, over the past 5 years attendance has been slowly dropping.

ichiro is so old youre never going to see him make a miraculous running diving catch anymore or steal third base or second base sliding head first. the dude is old and slow and has shawn alexander syndrome, he doesnt want to push it anymore. i dont even know if he still has the laser-beam arm. last big throw i saw him do had no real power, it was cut off at first base and had no chance at all to get the runner at home.

i cant wait till we get out of the fuckin ichiro era (losing era) and get back on pace as a young team that farms cheap high value talent and trades them to the yankees. at least it was fun to kinda think there may be a small chance at making the world series.

night before last i wouldve had a fuckin stroke if felix's complete game with only 2 runs turned into a loss. that win at the very end was extremely satisfying and felt good, but it was short lived. not even a minute later i thought to myself... 3 to 2? this isnt good enough. pulling a win out of your ass at the very last second just isnt acceptable when your ace goes out there and puts on a show like that. wheres the support? sure they supported him defensively, felix didnt exactly have 16 strikeouts... i think he had 4... but this offense is bad for my blood pressure and sanity

last night was a bitter loss. game was disappointing to say the absolute least. 6-0 ouch...
