did he take a elbow in the chest on raw? I kept hearing he took a elbow.

Lawler needs to just retire from wrestling or as a announcer. he dedicated enough of his life to it he still rich so he will be good financial wise. We dont need another major loss in wrestling like that on TV especially.

Also I hope they decide to not bring falir back on wwe tv as the GM. Flair gonna end up dying in teh ring he too damn old now if he broke he just need to work backstage as a agent or something. He fucked up by coming back after HBK retired him.

I guess when you been on road for more then 20 years thens thats all you know and have nothing else bc these guys sacrafice they kids, wife, family, personal lives and physical being to please the crowd and do what they love.

imo either Vince, Joey styles or paul heyman should replace him on commentary or they could do like they did old days(with savage, piper, perfect, austin, pillman, hbk) have some mid carder or injured wrestler do it. shit throw santino on it this would be the perfect opportunity to bring AW back imo he would make a great comentator.

I still think they shouldve had lawler upset and win the strap off punk for atleast a week that wouldve been ratings out the ass. but they set up that pointless feud punk dont get no respect for beating a 62 year old retired hall of famer announcer they must think wrestling fans are dumb bc they did this same shit with lawler vs the miz two years ago when the miz was champ.

I keep hearing he was perfectly healthy before this happened but they have should not had him wrestle anymore. He was probably willing too but i really hope this is a lesson to WWE, keep the announcers to just being commentators especially if they over 40 years old. To many deaths in the wrestling world to allow this shit to be happening.

Idk man.... Japan has tons of old heads in worse shape than lawler still wrestling.

This heart attack was goin to happen at somepoint down the line. Just be happy it went down at raw where he could get medical help right away.... That's probably the reason he isn't dead.

WWE isn't the ones that make him wrestle. Jerry is still pretty much a full time wrestler in indy shows between Monday Night Raws.

He actually wrestled 2 matches the weekend before RAW one of which was against Sid. Dude wrestles almost every week on indy shows.

Looks like Jerry pulled through with no brain damage. Great news

http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe/Jerry_the_King_Lawler_Test_Results_-_NO_Brain_Damage.html

This morning, the medical tests are in and based on 2 individuals close to Jerry "the King" Lawler, there appears to be NO brain damage after Monday's events when Jerry collapsed and was reportedly clinically dead for 20 minutes. The lack of oxygen/blood to the brain caused concern.

Ex-wife Stacy "the Kat" Carter and best friend Jim Ross Tweeted the following on their verified Twitter accounts:

- S @stac ycarterkat: The rumors are true. I just got confirmation that J @JERRY lawler test results are in & he has NO brain damage. This is wonderful news!!!!!

- @JRsBBQ: Memphis TV channel 3 reports J @JERRY Lawler has NO brain damage from his Monday night heart attack. Thank God for WWE doctors & EMTS.

WMC-TV5 reported on the CT Scan tests finding no brain damage: http://www.wmctv.com/story/19521437/ct-scan-results-for-jerry-lawler-revealed

(WMC-TV) - Friends, family, and fans have been on pins and needles awaiting Jerry "The King" Lawler's CT scan results. According to Joe Cooper, who is Lawler's best friend and business partner, the results are in.

Cooper says Lawler does not have brain damage as a result of his heart attack Monday night.

^^that's great news.

but i dont really get all the praise for michael cole. im not sure if he still plays a heel or not but are people impressed that he acted concerned and didn't stay in heel character? or are they impressed that he didn't break down and start crying? im sure he was being instructed what to do. what exactly did he do that any other professional commentator wouldn't have done?

if pat summerall had a heart attack while commentating, which in his later days i was always concerned would one game happen, im sure even john madden would have done similar to cole and not drawn diagrams on pat and been like "boom! and now he's collapsed on the floor!"

People are just happy he kept his shit together. I heard he did commentary recently and way less people were booing when he made his way down to the announcers booth. It's hard to boo the guy after what happened. I do wonder what they will do with the cole character....slowly work his way back to heel mode or make him a "face" announcer?

i think it may depend on who they pair him up with... Since i highly doubt lawler will be back...

yeah his son said no brain damage but he still looks in bad shape. IMO king hasnt looked in shape in the ring for few years he can barely climb the ropes for that fist drop.

imo its time for him to retire all together. they can replace him on comentating since they already got rid of jr. its time for a change in comentating too since wwe claim to have a change

WWE > RAW Breakdown: Punk vs. Orton, Bret Hart's Return
Posted by Steve Carrier on 09/12/2012 at 03:29 PM

- As noted before, the September 10th WWE RAW did a 2.89 cable rating with 4.15 million viewers.

In the segment breakdown, Kofi Kingston and R-Truth vs. The Miz and Antonio Cesaro lost 426,000 viewers from the opener. The deposition video with Sheamus and David Otunga gained 403,000 viewers, which is good for the first hour. Eve Torres, Kaitlyn and Layla vs. Alicia Fox, Natalya and Beth Phoenix lost 145,000 viewers.

CM Punk vs. Randy Orton gained 555,000 viewers at 9pm. The tag match with Punk and Dolph Ziggler vs. Orton and Jerry Lawler gained 7,000 viewers. Kane and Daniel Bryan backstage with Dr. Shelby plus Ryback vs. Heath Slater lost 247,000 viewers. Kane and Bryan vs. Titus O'Neil and Darren Young gained 164,000 viewers for a 3.08 quarter rating, a lackluster growth for the 10pm timeslot.

Tyson Kidd vs. Alberto Del Rio and David Otunga vs. Sheamus gained 38,000 viewers. Booker T and AJ Lee on stage plus backstage segments and Michael Cole updating us on Jerry Lawler lost 342,000 viewers. Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes gained 33,000 viewers. The final segment with Bret Hart, John Cena and CM Punk gained 407,000 viewers for a 3.11 overrun rating.

You do realize that Michael Cole's update was grouped with Booker T and AJ Lee AND backstage segments. Maybe people thought those segments sucked as well.

If those people are anything like me, they tune in just to hear Lawler balance out Cole's easily hated commentary.

With no King and better places to get updates on Lawler, I would have skipped out on the programming, too.
