the Mets are short pitching outside of Johan Santana.
the Phillies are short pitching outside of Cole Hammels.
the Cards have no bullpen (worse than the Giants)
Phillies have alote of power, but they also have alote of strikeouts. but overall a good hitting team with power
Mets have good speed with some good bats, not as much power as the phillies but they dont strikeout as much either.
Cards have one ELITE hitter and some good hitters around him. but not enough to make up for the lack of pitching. when Kyle Loesch is your best pitcher, you're in bad shape. the cards also have absolutly no bullpen.
Cubs appear to be a complete team. with power in Ramirez, Lee, and Soriano while Lee and Ramirez will also give you a quality at bat to go along with good pitching (Harden, Zambrano, Dempster, and Lilly) in the rotation also with power arms in the back end with Carlos Marmol and Kerry Wood.
heres where i see the Dodgers if they make it. Deepest Rotation Billingsley, Lowe, Kuroda, Kershaw, Maddox. Bills can go pitch for pitch with ANY pitcher in the MLB. Lowe has been there and done that when it counts the most. Koruda has really good stuff. and as for Kershaw, well you guy are seeing what he has done at the age of 20. this kid is a phenom. our #5 is a future HOF'er.
and as good as Marmol and Wood are i truly believe that Kuo and Broxton are just as good if not better!!
Dodger hitting is good but lacks power. they dont strike out often and out hit their opponant most of the time. they got good speed (Kemp, Martin, Pierre). alo have a solid defense (weak spots are Manny in LF and Berroa at SS).
i honestly think that the NL West gets less credit than it deserves because they all beat up on each other with the tremendous pitching that i spread throughout the division.
when you have to play 80 games every year against Cain, Lincicum, Penny, Lowe, Billingsley, Young, Peavy, Liminez, Francis, Webb, Johnson, Haren and you play in parks like Dodger Stadium, AT&T, and Petco offensive numbers will suffer..............
