Some good and bad news...
-Don Nelson has been told by Golden State GM Larry Riley to stay home from practice Friday and possibly for the Warriors game on Saturday.
Nelson has been fighting pneumonia and suffered several dizzy spells in his return to the sideline Thursday. Between recent bouts of ill health and poor team play, rumors of Nellie stepping down (voluntarily or involuntarily) are bound to continue.
-Coach Don Nelson will be on the Warriors' sideline for Saturday's game against the Magic, but will miss a 5-game road trip that ends Dec. 14 in Philadelphia.
Nelson, who is recovering from pneumonia, felt well enough to coach and attend practice this week. But he is still feeling weak and decided to follow doctors' directions and skip the Warriors' week-long road trip. Assistant Keith Smart will be acting head coach in Nelson's absence.
Anthony Morrow will miss Saturday's game against the Magic because of a death in his family.
Morrow's absence will put even more of the scoring load on Monta Ellis, while Stephen Curry and C.J. Watson are also likely to get more looks than usual. Morrow is expected back for Monday's game against the Thunder.
Anthony Randolph (ankle) is unlikely to play for the next two weeks as he continues to recover from a severely sprained ankle.
The Warriors said that they could use Randolph, but only as a "worst case" option. The Warriors are currently decimated by injuries but it looks like the only floor time Randolph will see is if the only other option is forfeiting. He's further away from playing than originally thought.
