Little late but thought it was a good start to the season. one thing i always loved about this show is that it stays true to the formula and doesnt feed into the bullshit the majority likes.

one thing i really didnt like was jesse being a dumbass again. in the entire season 4 we watched jesse become a true man and never said any dumb shit. but in this season he had the the whole thing we're he explained using magnets like a fucking retard. then he had that MAGNETS BITCH thing which woulda been good for season 2 jesse but he's already outgrown that and it seems the writers forgot.

Also i loved how they're showing how loyal Mike is to the people he cares about. He wants to kill Walt badly or even go on the run but his loyalty to Jesse wont let him. Best part of the show though was at the end when he forgave Skyler even though she never apologized, it's like he forgot he started this entire shitshow to begin with or better yet just doesnt give a fuck anymore. Looking forward to seeing Walt as a pure bad guy.

still havent watched the season premier yet. Hopefully tonight... But thankfully this never happened, Bueller playing Walt...lol

Matthew Broderick or John Cusack as Walter White?

When “Breaking Bad” premiered in 2008, audiences were shocked to see the lovably goofy dad from Fox’s lighthearted “Malcolm in the Middle” suddenly dealing with cancer … not to mention dealing crystal meth. So it’s understandable that AMC had reservations about Bryan Cranston’s casting, preferring movie stars John Cusack or Matthew Broderick instead, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "We all still had the image of Bryan [standing in the kitchen, in his underwear] shaving his body in ‘Malcolm in the Middle,’” one exec told the magazine. But series creator Vince Gilligan (who had worked with Cranston before on an episode of “The X-Files”) stuck to his guns, and now Cranston has a trio of Emmy awards as a result.

I think Walt "forgave" Skyler cuz he's going to murk her and Beneke. He had that expression where he made up his mind about something.
Nerds on a different site noticed this.

Opening scene (flash foward) - No wedding ring

Closing scene (real time) - Still wearing wedding ring

I'm not quite sure if he will kill her or someone else will but even before this I've thought she is going to die this season.

even though walt started "the shitshow"...he always did everything for his family. Being the typically scorned woman, Skylar fucked Ted for her own selfish reasons. Walt was not being selfish (or at the most selfish in protecting HIS family)

Pretty sure it's because he's in disguise and knowing walt and how he likes to have things perected (had the NH license/ID) i'm pretty sure he'd know to take off the wedding ring. however i did notice that it's only a been a year passing since he turned 50 so this is a year flashback if i recall correctly. so this shit is pushed way back and my guess is he's on the run and needs to kill someone that may know too much.

I think they writers are trying to show us his god complex with that scene, his first in many and his path to becoming the main protagonist.

He forgave her, because she just spend 600k of his hard earned money to safe Beneke's ass (and ultimately their ass) from the IRS. Didn't you see how pissed he was when Saul told him he transferred such a large amount of monies without contacting him beforehand? Skyler's facial expression at the end expressed something like "WTF you forgive ME?? You put us in this situation to begin with and i did the only reasonable thing and you have the nerve to step on this high horse and forgive ME? Fuck your forgiveness". I'm guessing that's the point where she decided to completely cut him off from the family.

The free Denny's meal for his birthday is based on the fake ID, not his own birthday. Plus, he did that thing with the bacon in the shape of 52, not 50. But I agree, he seems to be on the run. But like someone pointed out, this could be a flashback or a flashforward, you never know with BB.

yeah good point. i was referring to 50 since he did that the 1st episode of season one and i know it's only been a year since. so i was figuring that the recent scene at denny's was a year later from where we are now but i didnt even consider that it's just a fake ID birthday.

Why would he do the bacon 52 then? How would it be a flashback when the guy he bought the gun from he just met in season 4? Doesn't add up.
