My take is he killed him because:
1). People saw him at the crime scene.
2). He was supposed to keep Gale safe and failed.
3). To show how easily he'd kill anyone, even if it's someone he likes or is a good worker.
I mean, the manner in how he did it was to send a message. He did it in front of Walt and Jessie and when dudes head turned to the side after he cut it, he grabbed his head, straightened it out and allowed the blood to spray on Jessie and Walt, as to say, "now you look at this! This could be you"
It was a boss move.

I think because of both reasons. Not only are they fucked because Gale had lab notes at his house but I'm guessing it was the Mexican guy that called Gale's cellphone right after Jesse shot him.
I loved the whole backstory too of how it was Gale who talked Gus into bringing Walt on to cook for them. Dude signed his own death certificate without even knowing it.

Yeah after killing Gale Jesse was more or less in shock the whole episode but Gus killing the Mexican dude snapped him out of it. I think it made him realize he is a killer too though after watching Gus kill the other guy.
Also damn, he shot Gale right under the fucking eye at almost pointblank range. When they finally showed that everyone that was at my house watching it was like DAAAAAAMN.

i would think Gus killed Victor more-so because he wanted to show he was, to quote Sam Jackson, a bad motherfucker. When Mike the Cleaner was on the phone with Gus, he didnt really mention anything about people seeing Victor at Gale's house after the murder. And If I remember correctly, Mike seemed pretty startled when Gus slit Victor's neck. I think if he had informed Gus that he was seen after Gale's murder, it wouldn't have came as much of a surprise to him.

it definetly was and see how gus was surprised it idnt work with jesse? he looked at jesse and realized jesse was staring right back at him like he didnt have a care in the world. walt looked bitch made and jesse looked boss in that situation IMO. i think jesse dies this season and walt does it, pretty sure of it.
