whats wrong with him now?
Jacoby Ford: Knee Issue
Posted on August 8, 2013 at 10:23 AM

NEWS UPDATE
Ford left Wednesday's practice after aggravating a knee ligament strain that hampered him over the past two weeks, CSNBayArea.com reports.

The Raiders had not previously disclosed the nature of the ailment, but it's a knee injury that's been bothering Ford for weeks now. It's more of the same for the 26-year-old, who's been limited to just eight games in the past two seasons because of leg issues, though it's uncertain how long this setback will keep Ford out.

Tyler Wilson Losing Snaps

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

After the draft, all indications were that the Raiders got some great value with their fourth-round selection of Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson.

While those initial assumptions may still prove to be true, camp reports suggest that Wilson is no longer seeing many snaps, and is in fact losing many of the third-team reps to undrafted free agent, Matt McGloin.

As Vic Tafur reports, Wilson may now be in a direct competition with McGloin for the Raiders’ No. 3 quarterback role.

Of course, it is still early and Wilson has plenty of time, including preseason games, to adjust to the NFL level and win his roster spot.

Early reports of him impressing at the Raiders’ OTAs may have set the expectations slightly high for a mid-round rookie, but he should be on the final roster given his potential moving forward.

......so if Mclovin beats out Wilson for the 3rd QB spot does it mean we cut our 4th rd pick or do we keep 4 QBs?

What it isn't right is that you care. I like how many teams that I like, that's life bro. Why is this a discussion in every thread? Good grief...

Oakland Raiders: Finally day of rest for Charles Woodson

08/12/2013 11:49 AM

NAPA -- Highlights and notes from Monday morning's practice at Raiders training camp:

-- And on the 13th practice, Charles Woodson rested. Woodson, who vowed to be a regular practice participant and that coaches would have to pull him off the field, did not participate for the first time.

No word on if Woodson was being rested or has an injury.

-- A strong punting day for Marquette King, who out-kicked Chris Kluwe with a 50-yard punt to 36-yarder for Kluwe against Dallas. The Raiders punted only twice in the game.

-- As promised, coach Dennis Allen began to work snappers other than Jon Condo into the special teams mix. Stefen Wisniewski rolled one to King in the end zone but was otherwise solid. Josh Cribbs took a break from his job as the personal protector on the punt team to get in a long snap.

-- Minimal participation for rookie fourth-round pick Tyler Wilson, who did manage to get into a team session for one play and zipped a completion to wide receiver Connor Vernon.

-- The Raiders have yet to see the defensive line they expect to start play together during training camp. Still out are Pat Sims, Vance Walker and Lamarr Houston. That leaves Christo Bilikidi and rookie Stacy McGee starting inside and veteran Andre Carter on the outside along with Jason Hunter.

-- Running back Latavius Murray missed his second straight practice and his chances of unseating Rashad Jennings appear slim at this point.

-- With Mike Brisiel missing his second straight day at right guard, veteran Andre Gurode again played that position alongside right tackle Khalif Barnes.

Others who missed practice included guard Lucas Nix, cornerback Taiwan Jones, tackle Menelik Watson, wide receiver Jacoby Ford, linebacker Miles Burris, linebacker Keenan Clayton, defensive lineman Brandon Bair, wide receiver Juron Criner, linebacker Billy Boyko and linebacker Kaluka Maiava.

-- Free safety Reggie Smith had an interception during a 7-on-7 drill when a Terrelle Pryor pass bounced off the hands of tight end Brian Leonhardt.

-- Quarterback Matt Flynn continues to show a knack for getting out of trouble then hitting receivers with short throws on the run, with running backs most often his targets.

Its the same reason why we keep McFadden. When McFadden and Ford are in and healthy, they are difference makers. Ford is a dangerous punt and kick off returner. He is also a good WR. While I am losing patience with this health issue from our key players, I keep the hope that if they can just stay healthy we can be untouchable on offense.

The reason Porter has to give up the #24 is because it belongs to Woodson and he knows and respects that. If he didn't respect it at first, someone got in his ear and set him straight. Charles Woodson is a MODERN day legend in Oakland. He can have whatever he wants!

fuck that sucks. the line is in real trouble.

its time for alex barron to step up. former first round pick for the rams, was out the league last year. looked good this offseason so far. lets hope hes hungry enough to do a decent job

on the other hand, this should lessen the blow it would of took to sign veldheer long term if he did beast this year.

well if the O-line is as banged up as every one says it is then it's going to be a long night for him luckily he'll only be in for a Qtr..
I wonder what player will continue to show good consistent play and who starts regressing a bit...
